July 24 - Durian Therapy Tour

A tour curated just for durian lovers! The tour started with a visit to the durian trees grown at Pearl Bank. Savouring the fruit starts from learning about the plant! Do you know that durian trees can grow up to as high as a 13-storey HDB apartment building? Participants then went through a durian quiz, and retro durian candies were handed out for correct answers. Last but not least, we headed out to Geylang to eat durians! After much consideration, we ordered a black gold and a red prawn. The participants enjoyed it so much and said it was an awesome tour!

7月24日 - ドリアンセラピーツアー

ドリアン好きの方のために企画されたツアー！ツアーはパールバンクで栽培されているドリアンの木々を見学することから始まりました。フルーツを味わうには、まず植物について学ぶことから！ドリアンの木は、13階建てのHDBマンションと同じくらいの高さまで成長することもあるってご存知ですか？その後、参加者はドリアンクイズに挑戦。正解者にはレトロなドリアンキャンディーがプレゼントされました。最後は、ゲイランへドリアンを食べました！悩んだ末、ブラックゴールドとレッドプローンを注文しました。参加者は皆大喜びで、最高のツアーだったと言っていました！

July 14 - JAS x Lim's Tours presents Kampong Gelam Tour: A Stroll Through Colors and Tradition

In this 9th instalment of Singapore Lecture and Tour series, we have gathered the largest group of participants by far, a total of 17 pax! In a short 3 hours, including a Kueh sampling break at Rumah Minang, everyone got a glimpse at the cultural, historical and religious features of Kampong Gelam.

シンガポールレクチャー＆ツアーシリーズの第9回目となる今回は、これまでで最大の参加者数、合計17名にご参加いただきました！ルマ・ミナンでのクエ試食休憩を含め、わずか3時間という短い時間でしたが、カンポン・グラムの文化、歴史、宗教的特徴を垣間見ることができました。

It was an honour to host a company visit at one-north for company employees of Hyundai Korea. The guests enjoyed themselves and learned a lot about investing and starting a company in Singapore.

It was an honour to introduce Singapore's entrepreneur hub and ecosystem to the government leaders of Gyeonggi province, South Korea, an area that I personally have explored quite a fair bit. As it was a rainy day, we spent half the tour sitting in Timbre+, engaged in discussions of how they can apply what Singapore has done in one-north to Gyeonggi province and how some of the problems they experienced could possibly be reduced. It was a meaningful and insightful sharing for both the leaders and me. At the end, they even presented me with a local speciality.

싱가포르의 기업가 허브와 생태계를 경기도 정부 지도자들에게 소개하게 되어 영광이었습니다. 제가 개인적으로 꽤 많이 알아본 지역이기도 합니다. 비가 오는 날이었기에 투어의 절반을 Timbre+에 앉아 싱가포르의 원노스(One-North) 전략을 경기도에 어떻게 적용할 수 있을지, 그리고 그들이 경험한 문제들을 어떻게 줄일 수 있을지에 대해 논의했습니다. 지도자들과 저 모두에게 의미 있고 통찰력 있는 공유였습니다. 마지막에는 지역 특산품에 대한 이야기도 나누었습니다.

A group of 10 Japanese ladies got a glimpse of what it means to be Singaporean and to live in apartments which are so fondly known as HDB. They were introduced to the whole process of planning and buying a flat, and enjoyed themselves very much touring the different showrooms. They also learnt about Singapore's housing history and at the end of the tour, visited the well known dragon playground!

10名の日本人女性グループが、シンガポール人であること、そしてHDBと呼ばれるアパートに住むことの意味を垣間見る機会を得ました。彼女たちは、フラット購入の計画から購入までの全プロセスについて説明を受け、様々なショールームを巡り、大変楽しみました。また、シンガポールの住宅の歴史についても学び、ツアーの最後には有名なドラゴン・プレイグラウンドを訪れました。

A night of fun and learning as I led a group of Japanese expatriates in Singapore explore Sensoryscape with its newest SG60 installation of Peranakan cultural artifacts. They had a good time learning about the culture, playing with the AR effects and watching the fireworks at the end.

シンガポール在住の日本人駐在グループを率いて、プラナカン文化遺産を展示する最新のSG60インスタレーション「センサリースケープ」を見学し、楽しく学びに満ちた夜を過ごしました。参加者は文化について学び、ARエフェクトで遊び、最後には花火を鑑賞して楽しい時間を過ごしました。

I was honoured to be invited as a guest lecturer to deliver a one-hour long social studies lesson to 3 classes of primary 3 Japanese children on the topography of Singapore as well as how Singapore is planned over the years.

日本人小学校チャンギ校に招待され、3年生の子供たちに社会学習の講義をしに行きました。シンガポールの土地の高さや広がり、使われ方などの学習をさせ、最後にオーチャードエリアの古くから残った建物を紹介して、楽しい授業ができました。休憩時間に、子供たちは休みを取らず私の前に並んでたくさん質問をして、私はとても驚きました。4時間目の次は昼食なのに、残って質問をした子供も多かったです。貴重な機会になり、とても光栄です。

June 9 - Lim's Tours x JAS: Exploring the colors of Katong and Joo Chiat

It has been a while since I have led such a big group of people on a walking tour. We started the day at Ah Yee Soon Kueh where they get a taste of Singapore's local pastries. We then dropped by Paulin's coffee stand to say hello and she made roses out of Pandan leaves for everyone. Then a walk down Joo Chiat road led us to Black Earth Art Museum and the former Joo Chiat Maternity and Child Clinic. Our tea break was at Awfully Chocolate's first outlet in Singapore, where everyone enjoyed chocolate beverages and cakes. The tour ended with a visit to the conserved terrace houses at East Coast Road and the gallery at Kim Choo.

6月9日　日本人会開催　カトン街歩き旅：色彩と歴史の出会い

やや大きいグループに案内するのが久しぶりです。ツアーの最初、シンガポールロカールのお菓子を皆さんに試食してもらい、特別なコーヒースタンドによりました。店長のポーリンさんがとても喜んで全員にパンダンの葉っぱで作られたバラを差し上げました。そして、ジョーチャットロードを歩いて、ブラックアーズ美術館とジョーチャット婦人科病院で紹介をし、オーフリーチョコレート最初オペンしたアウトレットで休憩をとりました。とても美味しいチョコレートドリンクやケーキをご馳走いただいてから、イーストコーストロードの保護されたテラスハウスを見に行って、キムチューギャラリーを訪れてツアーが終了しました。

May 21 Visit to Singapore Silicon Valley by Gwangju Software Meister High School 1st Year Students

It was an honour to host a total of 70 students from Korea at Singapore Silicon Valley, one-north. The guides brought them on a tour around launchpad at one-north and they learned about the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Singapore.

May 19 - Singapore City Gallery Tour

It was an enlightening morning for this group of Japanese ladies to learn about the development of Singapore since the 14th century as they were brought from the earliest Temasek map to seeing the Singapore they know today. They were also amazed at the stories of how different Marina Bay would be if Tange Kenzo's concept was accepted. After the tour, we went to KADA where they had fun exploring the oldest elevator in Singapore.

5月19日　シンガポールシティーギャラリーツアー

14世紀から今までシンガポールの発展を、古い地図をみて驚いたことが多かったです。それに、もしこの前日本人建築家の丹下健三のコンセプトが採用されたら、現在のマリーナベイが全然違うことを知り、とてもビックリでした。たくさんの学習をしてからKADAモールに行って、シンガポール最も古いエレベーターを体験するのが楽しかったです。
