Dear Singaporeans, as we ponder the recent situation surrounding Mr. Pritam Singh, Leader of the Opposition, and the advocacy for a parliamentary debate by Ms. Indranee Rajah, Leader of the House, let us consider a scenario that merits equal attention.
Suppose a senior officer in the SAF or SPF were to engage in a relationship with a junior female personnel, would such a scenario not compromise professionalism, confidentiality, and potentially harm national defence interests?
Given the significant implications, shouldn't we reexamine the severity of an affair involving the Speaker of Parliament and a female MP, especially considering the Speaker's role in the Committee of Privileges (COP) which involved the Leader of Opposition?
While Ms. Indranee's intentions may be genuine, it would be beneficial for her to focus on pressing issues that require her attention, and that of her colleagues to create a Greater Singapore.
The current generation of Singaporeans is well-informed and expects more, unlike previous generations who had limited access to information.
Thank you.
