This is the official page of Beyond Mountains s.r.o., a small, limited liability company registered in Slovakia. Why Beyond Mountains?

First because that’s a translation of Zahorie, the name of the Slovak geographical and cultural region where the company is based. Slovak people often translate the name as Behind the Mountains, but I like Beyond better. This region got its name because it’s tucked into a corner of Western Slovakia, between the Small Carpathian Mountains and the River Morava. You have to go beyond the mountains to get there from the rest of Slovakia. The river marks the Czech border in the northern part of the region, and the Austrian border further south, where eventually it flows into the Danube close to Bratislava. I also chose the name because to me it symbolises exploration and discovery, going past limits and obstacles, being always ready to learn something new, and taking delight in the diversity that can be found beyond everyday experience.

Where I live it’s spring now and all my fruit trees are in blossom, which is lovely to see and has me looking forward to a future harvest of delicious cherries, pears, apples, peaches and plums. The photo is a closeup I took of some blossom on one of my pear trees. I love the red anthers.

I'm pleased to announce that I've fixed the problem with my subscription links. It turned out that the Newsletter plugin was incompatible with the Spam Shield plugin.

So I've changed to a another anti-spam plugin with the delightful name of WPBruiser. It appears to be doing the job fine so far. And the subscription works :) If you tried to sign up before but failed, look out for a new confirmation email.

The newsletter sign-up form at beyond-mountains.com is being very temperamental at the moment. Sometimes it works perfectly and sometimes it doesn't, and I haven't yet been able to discover why. If you've tried to sign up but got an error message after clicking on the confirmation link, you are on the list but are "unconfirmed". As soon as I manage to sort out the problem I'll send a new confirmation link so you can receive your free download. It might also stop you unsubscribing if you should for some strange reason want to do that. I'm hoping to fix that soon too.
