WARNING LONG POST BUT IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT MOVING!

Dakar, Senegal, West Africa is hosting the 2026 YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES next year. Its the first time an Olympics of any type has been held on the African Continent and SENEGAL, a country very few people know about, specifically DAKAR, was selected by the IOC (International Olympic Committee).

For comparison, the 2028 Olympics will be in Los Angeles, everyone has heard of LA but everyone hasn't heard of this gem in Africa, Dakar, Senegal.

This is from a comment made in response to a post and I will make it public for the group in case there are others interested.

I have an idea about roommate and co-living opportunities, especially with the Olympics coming up in Dakar, for people that want to get an authentic on the ground experience with other Americans already immersed in country, worldwide, 3 months at a time .

You can go place to place or if you love your new 'forever home' renew another 3 months as many times as you and your host wants and/or find your own place and contact me for a roommate!

With regard to safety issues, I can only speak on Senegal.

I have been in here continuously since 1999, for 25 years and I have never been robbed, pickpocketed, broken in to, assaulted... Nothing. Ask me about my previous life in Baltimore, MD and Pensacola, FL and its the stuff of nightmares! Its amazing how the human mind can accept anything as 'normal' as long as you don't know anything different.

Now that I know what passes for normal in the US is definitely NOT normal anywhere else in the world, (except maybe Brazil and South Africa), I can never go back again!

I've been living single and free too long (w/3 American children who went to Senegalese schools, now in their 30s and back in America with their own families). I have A LOT of land I bought over the years in my own name as gifts for them (enuf for 16 large villas or apartment complexes) by the beach in a tourist area years ago.

Senegal is NOT like Ghana and other places with regard to AUTHENTIC land purchases not leases.

Anyone can buy land... All you need is cash and passport/ID.

I decided I love my city life too much to move tho and the beach is only 3 blocks from me here in my neighborhood! I'm just chillin' in Dakar now living my semi retired life in perfect weather and peace. (80s70s)

So here's the plan: I was thinking of starting a worldwide roommate service for older singles or co-living with families and children...

Like white people do abroad. We should have had this type of network set up 40 years ago!

Anyway, I'll do it... No one else seems to have a professional business background or reputation and be serious about it. I do and I'll share my references or you can simply google me for a 'blackground' check!

This is HAPPENING in Oct/Nov of 2026 - the 2026 YOUTH OLYMPICS in Dakar, Senegal WEST AFRICA!

I've been telling people for YEARS Senegal is the ACTUAL PEARL OF AFRICA but very few listened and went on ahead to Ghana or South Africa/Tanzania for Safari tours, but we have GREAT SAFARIS HERE IN SENEGAL! Cheaper too! But let's tell the truth: who's got the infrastructure capacity (roads/bridges/airport/deep water port systems), public safety/quality of life, 24/7 internet and electricity (without need of a generator!), clean water out of the tap, GREAT nonGMO FOOD and most importantly, HOSPITALS, CLINICS & HIGHLY TRAINED MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS TO TAKE CARE OF THESE KIDS IF THEY GET HURT?

Senegal.

And that's why the OIC (International Olympic Committee) picked DAKAR, SENEGAL to host the FIRST OLYMPICS OF ANY KIND, IN AFRICA and not any of those other countries that get all the ink in the media! The Minister of Tourism here doesn't have a gazillion dollar budget to pay and host celebrity influencers to promote Senegal. They also don't market to vagabonds or people that want to couch surf, backpack or let's just be honest, s*x tourism with European retirees...

Senegal is a FAMILY FRIENDLY COUNTRY, with a wholesome drug/gang free environment and safe for SOLO WOMEN TRAVELERS too! I have lived here since 1999 and I can tell you from one woman to another, all you need to do is CONNECT WITH ME and I'll show you a world you've never dreamed possible!

We're not big on group tours, although we do have a thriving Cruise Tour niche and everyone does well when they pass thru our ports, but for the most part, the Senegalese gov't is looking for BUSINESS INVESTMENT & TRAVELERS:

Don't get me wrong, GROUPS ARE GREAT, but you'll have a better experience and more realistic overview of the country traveling with your family or alone, especially if you're looking for a place to retire.

WHAT SENEGAL NEEDS: Affluent, calm people who want to move their family to a stable up and coming developing country with room to invest in a small/business and utilize the services of businesses that are already here, adding to the economy and contributing to the tax base, which, in turns, adds to the development of the country.

They have an agency set up doing excellent work called APIX that will get you your business license and residency certificates in TWO DAYS... and shipping your household and commercial goods by container is much smoother than you'd expect. You get an appointment, meet your cargo, they bring it to it's final destination, EASY PEASY!

DAKAR, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye on Wednesday asked Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko to take immediate actions to ensure the timely completion of key infrastructure projects for the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) set to be held in Senegal in 2026.

During a meeting of the Council of Ministers, Faye emphasized the importance of fulfilling the country's commitments to providing quality sports, transport, tourism, and logistics infrastructure.

These innocent young Muslim men don't know what tampons are! lol! Most women/girls use pads to protect they hymens. You can only buy them in grocery stores, not little convenience stores in the neighborhoods.

I'm glad she didn't act an ass and just explained what it was. Having a good attitude, a friendly smile and CLOWNING in a good way, will get you so much more respect than being negative and abusive.

One thing I say all the time is PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO SMUGGLE ANYTHING INTO SENEGAL... these guys are on their job and they will catch you.

They catch damn near everyone. The rates are so high it looks like Senegal is a 'smuggling point' but it's not, it's where the smugglers get caught!

The full-time traveler, Tara Katmis, told Newsweek that the moment in Africa was a "wild experience."

It's been a HEAT WAVE here... 85+ is killing me! I hate EXTREMES of heat or cold! Usually Dakar is maybe 83 to 85 in the summer but it's been as high as 88 and once or twice 90 degrees...

I'm so glad I drive a scooter! The ocean breezes are delicious!

SENEGALESE PEEPS: This is a warning about the 2026 Youth Olympics being held in Dakar, Senegal in a couple of years.

We, in the English speaking world know what the word 'grooming' means when it comes to children and young adults being manipulated into believing in an Agenda that people in the Muslim community don't want pushed on our communities.

They always say they want to 'teach acceptance and respect' for other individuals but never want to have the same acceptance and respect for people/societies that DO NOT want their ideologies in places they have no business.

Like Children's Sports. Freedom 'of' has to go hand in hand with Freedom 'from' but most in that community don't adhere to this philosophy.

I hope that the Senegal/Dakar Youth Olympic Committee keeps what happened in Paris with the Hijab ban, the Opening/Closing ceremonies, the bizarre boxing competition, the athletes being banned from wearing crosses, the politics of banning some countries that are at war and not others that are actively participating in genocide and creation havoc and wars worldwide, and other things that I don't have time to list here, OUT of our Games.

The Olympics should reflect the culture of the host country and be non political, like they used to be. However, as President Macron said after the firestorm that came after what many deemed the mocking of Christianity and the banning of the Hijab for Muslims before the Games, he said in a tweet 'This is France'

Senegal is not France, Senegal is Senegal and our Games should respect the culture of not only this country, but that of all the other African countries as well.

'Grooming' the 2026 Youth Olympic volunteers is the plan, but we don't have to allow their ideology to get indoctrinated into the minds of our children.

Please my Senegalese friends, heed my warning, I know what they're doing with this and that's the end goal, BE VIGILANT, PAY ATTENTION AND SHUT IT DOWN WHEN YOU SEE IT!
