🌿 Meet the False Chameleon! 🌿
Say hello to Polychrus marmoratus, also known as the many-colored bush anole or monkey lizard 🦎—a slow-moving, color-shifting marvel of the rainforest!
📍 Found in the lush forests of Suriname, this fascinating reptile isn’t a “true” chameleon, but it sure knows how to put on a colorful show!
Fun Facts:
• Can subtly change color for camouflage
• Uses its long tail for balance in trees
• Moves slowly and deliberately like a monkey (hence the nickname!)
• Excellent climber and completely arboreal
• Not dangerous—just beautifully bizarre!
