Press Release on Meeting Recap: Red Army Foundation and Senior Presidential Envoy for Special Programs
Dear Members of the Red Army Foundation and Esteemed Members of the Public, today marked a significant gathering as the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Red Army Foundation (RAF), alongside her esteemed colleagues—including Dr. Taban James Dakada, Cde. David Dut Ayuen Kuou, Cde. Abraham Majak Makur, Cde. Marial Awuok Til, Cde. Tut Garang, Cde. Samuel Lado Gombek, and Cde. Emmanuel Akot Atak—met with the Senior Presidential Envoy for Special Programs, Hon. Adut Salva Kiir, in her office.
The Senior Presidential Envoy extended a warm welcome to the RAF leadership, expressing her admiration for their unwavering dedication to preserving the legacy of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) and its leadership. She reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the Foundation in all its endeavors.
In her address, Cde. Deborah Chiditgam Agok, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with Hon. Adut Salva Kiir. As a member of the liberation generation, she emphasized the importance of proactive measures to institutionalize the RAF as a vital component of the veteran institutions in the post-liberation and post-independence landscape of South Sudan.
Echoing these sentiments, Deputy Chair Cde. Taban James Dakada highlighted the necessity of fostering effective working relationships and enhancing accessibility to leadership. This approach will ensure that crucial matters concerning our nation are addressed collaboratively.
Cde. Abraham Majak Makur concluded the discussions by reflecting on the historical significance of institutionalizing the RAF. He underscored the Foundation's potential role as an integral agency in the nation-building process.
Adding a poignant touch to the meeting through songs, Cde. Marial Awuok reminded Hon. Adut Salva Kiir Mayardit of her father's legacy, recalling his contributions during the two liberation wars—Anya Nya One and the SPLM/A. This reminder served to invigorate the meeting with a sense of historical purpose and commitment to the future.
