MUNDARI CULTURAL FESTIVAL ORGANIZERS HONOR THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR HER SUPPORT.

Bush Buse and members of the Mundari Cultural Festival Organising Committee paid a courtesy visit to H.E. the Vice President to express their appreciation for her participation and support during the recent festival.

The delegation briefed the Vice President on the success of the event, highlighting its role in promoting cultural heritage, unity, youth engagement, and community pride. They also presented her with a token of recognition for her outstanding support to the festival.

The Vice President commended the organizers for preserving South Sudan’s rich cultural traditions and encouraged continued collaboration to empower young people and strengthen national identity through culture.

The Lopit men of South Sudan have traditionally been recognized as warriors and protectors of their community. They live in the Lopit Mountains, a rugged region that has forged their resilient character and strong sense of territorial defense.From a young age, Lopit men are trained to protect their livestock, family, and village—central elements of their identity. They carry spears, staffs, and simple shields, and their bodies are often adorned with ritual markings, necklaces, and bracelets, symbols of courage, maturity, and clan membership.

On 18 August 1955, the people of South Sudan ignited their long march toward freedom, a struggle of resilience and sacrifice carried across generations and ultimately fulfilled on 11 July 2011 with the birth of a new nation.
