Final treats :

Starting at Greenlight Cafe & Bar Koh Samui for the islands’ healthiest and tastiest lunch then onto CYAN SPA KO SAMUI for a collection of massages and painted nails before we fly to Malaysia then home.

Meanwhile for your viewing pleasure here’s the journey up the hill in the car. Many a mixed review about how supposedly hard and dangerous this road is, as you can see, it’s an easy run affording incredible views. Sure be careful but don’t be afraid!

At the Walking Market in Maenam tonight. Half way down you’ll find PRAVA, Intl & Thai fusion catering to vegetarians and vegans in equal measure. Wat and Lilly have been here as long as we have been visiting and this continues to be a favourite spot of ours - must visit!

Weather a touch unsettled today and the comforts of home calling - so off to LUCKY RESTAURANT in Nathon. 10 minutes from the villa for Pie n Mash - me and Olive only 😜

Please meet the wonderful Villa Manager and Staff who will take care of you once you arrive.

Chonlada (alone) is our on site manager and will help with all your requests like car hire, day trips, island tips and so on. Chonlada is a qualified accountant, language teacher and mum among many other things.

Wan, Nong and Ying (left to right) are our onsite staff. They will visit the villa every second day and take care of cleaning and turning over your linen / towels. You'll see them around the villa during your stay also taking care of the gardens and surrounding areas.

***FULL DISCLOSURE***

The idea behind the stream of holiday posts in and around the villa is to ensure folks that rock up know what to expect and how to maximise all that is fantastic on this Island.

So to the view from the villa - please see the two pics - one from the balcony off the Master (where we have our morning coffee ritual) and the other from the pool deck off the main living area.

Note the growing jungle does interrupt views from the pool - alas the owner of the land below us would rather we don't tend to his greenery, so we await Mother Nature to free up windows for us as she invariably does from tropical wind to tropical wind. Has it advantages though - watching and listening to the local wildlife hop from branch to branch / tree to tree becomes quite therapeutic :-)

Friday = Fitness / Fun / Fishermans Village (and chores).

Another excellent start to the morning at Superpro Crossfit in Chaweng. The gym is pretty much on the other side of the island from the vila - but the 08.00 class start was perfect as road was quiet (pre school run) so door to door 30 minutes.

Getting your washing done is super easy and cheap - we use the wee laundry shop at the bottom of the mountain and have done for years - two lovely ladies look after us and turn around the domestic chore around in 2 days, all fluffy and folded. You can have them pressed should you havr a special dinner date :-)

Late breakfast / early lunch at The Road Less Travelled Samui in Nathon. This place is amazing. I'd ignorantly describe it as a cool New York Bistro with an incredible art gallery above and impeccable Asian fusion kitchen below. Its an oasis on the hot busy noisy street of Nathon - must visit!

Our Friday nights here always the same. The Fisherman's Village Bophut Beach sets up for an enormous pedestrian market. Theres plenty of parking at The Wharf - then walk slowly around the market sampling the food, drink and Thai stalls. Many of the restaurants set up stalls offering takeaways against the menus too. We tend to start the evening watching the sun set at CoCo Tam's on the beach with a cocktail or two.

On days like this you’ll be pushed to find a better spot. 25 mins from the villa yet a million miles from the jungle. Recommend the fresh spring rolls and ice cold Chang Lager 😎
