What's the solution to having one day in a city where you need at least 4 days for? If that city is Bangkok, then this tour I took gets the job done 👍🏻

It checks all the boxes you need to check for a first-time visit, but within 3 hours. Tuk-tuk rides (plural 🤓), papaya salad, Chinatown, flower market, and a view of Wat Arun to end the night 😭

Here are some snapshots I took 😍

📸 Wat Arun in technicolor (it's usually just gold!)
📸 Assortment of Northeastern dishes
📸 The famous Yaowarat Street in Chinatown
📸 Spicy pomelo salad and local fruits
📸 Did you know this existed at the flower market? 🤩
📸 View from my five-star ride 🤣
📸 Kanom Bueang (It's not a food tour without these!)

What tour was it? Access my full review article above! 🙌🏻

LOLOL Guess what... You're finding a food post from Petra during your midnight scroll again 😂 Maybe I should start calling myself a food blogger 🤡

After joining another tour around my hometown, I actually realized there were a lot of hidden food gems I had never tried before... Here are some of them:

📸 Vietnamese-inspired savory crepes
📸 Crispy pork ( This one's for you 🩵)
📸 Wanton noodles
📸 Papaya salad, a northeastern classic 😋
📸 Smoked Tilapia wrapped in betel leaves
📸 Egg noodles with pork leg stew 🤤
📸 Another classic, kanom krok
📸 Roasted sweet sticky rice

Which of these would you try first? 😍

Did I get your attention with the frescoes of Palazzo dell'Archiginnasio? Did I? 🤓

I thought Bologna was pretty chill, until I tried to write a "quick" guide on the coolest things to do in the city. Needless to say, that guide was anything but quick 😂 🤡

The time has come for me to dump more Bologna photos on here. Of course, they make up parts of my top recommended activities in Bologna as well!

📸 Rare books library inside Palazzo dell'Archiginnasio
📸 ✨More✨ frescoes inside the first University of Bologna campus
📸 An anatomy classroom from the 17th century
📸 One of the few surviving medieval-era porticoes
📸 Having a Raviola alla mostarda at Giardini Margherita 😋
📸 Santuario Madonna di San Luca
📸 Did you know Bologna also has canals? 🧐
📸 Super up-close view of the city's clock from the tower deck

And that wraps up my guides to Bologna. Sample itineraries upcoming, and then we're moving over to Florence! 🥳

Did I gain a few pounds from my time in Bologna, eating all this gelato to come back and serve you foodies this short list?

A few pounds? 😅 I gained 8 pounds, to be exact! 😂

I have it all under control by the time I'm writing this, though. Former athlete ✌🏻

MY TOP 3 SPOTS (all totally local to Bologna) ⬇️

📸 Cremeria Santo Stefano (This place has my heart forever 🩵)
📸 Cremeria Cavour
📸 Delizie Bolognesi

SAVE THEM to your phone if you're coming to Bologna soon. I also drop a quick tip on how to not fall for tourist trap gelatos in the guide.

😃 I had the best time walking all over old town Bologna, from the furthest north to Giardino Margherita, all the way to the San Luca Sanctuary.

The city is very walkable, and you won't even need a bus ride if you base yourself wisely. I've written up an area guide based on my own experience to help travelers decide where to stay so they can explore the city entirely on foot, too.

💛 An album of memories from my non-touristy cooking class in Bologna 💛

I was very careful with booking a cooking class. I wanted to spend some private time talking to a local instead of getting tipsy with 15 other tourists in a cooking school. This ended up being the most memorable 4 hours of my time in the city 🥹

SNAPSHOTS OF MY STRUGGLES 😂 ⬇️

📸 Me folding ricotta-filled tortelloni
📸 Literally the view I had from my station 😭
📸 Do you see (👀)? I totally do 🤣
📸 Beating the eggs and slowly mixing the dough
📸 My sfoglia getting thin enough. Not too bad, right? 😅
📸 Yours truly, putting down ricotta fillings
📸 Folded tortelloni, ready for the pot
📸 Tortelloni B***o e Salvia 🤤

If you're also considering a cooking class in Bologna, do NOT book anything (not even this one) until you've read my review. I'm here to help you make sure you book what's right for you!

✨ It'll never cease to amaze me what kind of well-known masterpiece I'm accidentally looking at inside the churches of Italy. This time in Bologna ✨

In my latest guide on my favorite seven churches in Bologna (No, not the seven churches of Santo Stefano, but those are part of the list 😉), I help you break down each church's highlights, nearest other attractions, and food spots. Because let's admit it, planning logistics is its own kind of hell 😅

I also have a suggested church-hopping itinerary for you!

FEATURED IN THIS POST ⬇️

📸 Another work of Michelangelo inside the Chapel of San Domenico
📸 The stunning altar of Basilica di San Petronio
📸 Dome fresco of Santuario Madonna di San Luca
📸 Can you spot the Byzantine portrait on the altar of San Luca?
📸 My favorite cloister behind Basilica di San Domenico

This time, I'm reviewing the food tour that I joined to learn more about the local cuisine and get insights on which shops to go back to. I'm spilling my experience stop-by-stop to help you decide for your trip.

Because let's face it, choosing one out of over 12 tours is never easy 🫠

HERE COMES THE PREVIEW ⬇️

📸 Fresh pasta at Ceccarelli Amedeo
📸 Parmigiano Reggiano cheese 🤤
📸 Salumeria Simoni, THE deli of Bologna

Even as the food capital of Italy, as long as there are tourists in Bologna, there will be tacky little "fast food" spots waiting to serve you delicious, but reheated, pasta. 🤡

So I had three meals every single day of my trip (I don't usually do that, trust me 💀) to bring you the 12 finalists, the true, local, slow food spots.

I would say sorry for posting often about food, but I'm not 🤪

Here are some of the mementos I took from my meals ⬇️

📸 Drogheria della Rosa (How CUTE is it, though? 😍)
📸 The Heavenly Brioche alla crema from Allegra
📸 The friggione pasta that blew me away at A Balùs
📸 A Balùs before the dinner crowd hit
📸 Tortelloni b***o e salvia from Sfoglia Rina
📸 The best Gramigna alla salsiccia at Trattoria del Rosso
📸 Tortellini Tartufata from Trattoria Nonna Gigia

Which of these made you drool the most? 😅

Click the link above for the full details! 👍🏻

Are you scrolling on IG after 10pm? I'm sorry. Actually, no. No, I'm not 🤣

As the de facto slow food capital of Italy, it'd be quite a waste to get there and order a pizza or a Caprese salad, wouldn't it? Ordering food regionally is everything in Italy. So let's look at what you ✨should✨ be trying in Bologna!

WHAT TO EAT IN BOLOGNA: A Preview 🤤

📸 Gramigna alla Salsiccia
📸 Tagliatelle al Ragù
📸 Balanzoni
📸 Pinza Bolognese
📸 Zuppa Inglese

📸 And lastly, the home pasta, Tortellini, featured in a special menu with white truffles. This one's NOT on the food list, but on the restaurants list that I'll be releasing tomorrow 😉

Now, tell me. Did I mess up your diet regimen? 😅

If you want the full list, you know where to find it! ☝🏻

🥳 The Italy Series has started on the blog! 🇮🇹

✈️ I first visited Italy in 2019 and immediately fell in love with it. In fact, Italy was the first country I ever slow-traveled in (not counting the US, which became my home).

Returning after six years, I'm still so starstruck by all of it. Everything from the architecture, history, art, food (of course!), to culture makes it so hard to resist booking another plane ticket back 😂

👩🏻‍💻 This year was my first visit as a travel blogger, though. I'm opening this series of Italy blog posts with some cultural travel tips 💡

If you're about to visit for the first time, access the full guide through the link above!

So👏much👏food👏 on this tour. So much food. 😍

Let's admit it, foodies. Isn't trying to decide between the fifty-something food tours the most draining thing when planning a trip? 😂

What's in it? Where do we stop? What will I get to eat? Will I get to try 5 things or 10 things? Will I regret booking it if it doesn't live up to my expectations? 🫠

So I took a tour through Bangkok's Chinatown... So I can come and at least help you decide whether you want to book THIS one or not. (Hint: You will 🤤)
