IN THE KNOW: Here is the list of ports administered by the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) that are authorized to operate, as well as accept Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs), Returning Overseas Filipino (ROFs) and Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APORs), as of 27 August 2020.
The list is subject to change, depending on the policies released by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) and concerned Local Government Units (LGUs), as well as the availability of vessel services calling at the ports.
As various health and safety protocols are strictly being enforced in the ports, LSIs, ROFs and APORs are reminded to ensure that all necessary travel documents are accomplished to avoid inconveniences.
At present, a moratorium on LSIs is still imposed in some ports under the Port Management Office of Eastern Leyte/Samar, such as the Calbayog, Catbalogan and San Isidro, due to the increasing number of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the area.
Meanwhile, ports in the province of Iloilo will only accept LSIs and ROFs if they have prior coordination and acceptance from their respective LGUs.
Meanwhile, the ports of Capinpin in Bataan, South Harbor in Manila and the Subic Bay Freeport Zone serve as international crew change hubs in the country.
For everyone’s guidance and information.
