A week ago 65 strangers boarded a cruise ship in Italy as strangers, 7 days later they left as friends. Our YouTube Creator Cruise just wrapped up and it was beyond our expectations.

We had creators at all different stages of the process, from those who just bought the course to go on the cruise to those just starting and some in the throes of YouTube world.

We had sessions on thumbnails, equipment, editing and even a live taping of a video. It was our first time filming a YouTube video in front of a live studio audience and it was so fun.

They got to watch us from start to finish as we made a video in under an hour. You’ll get to see the final product on Grounded Life Retirement travel channel soon.

When we made these courses and communities to go with the course, we had no idea what to expect. We’ve had some pretty amazing people join in along the way.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on this cruise. You have no idea how much we appreciate you all!! If you want to join us on the next one, head to our website for more info. Our next creator summit is to Alaska!! We’ll also have some incredible co hosts joining us.

I’ll add the link in the comment section but for now, enjoy some pics from our wonderful cruise.

PS: we also had some very special guests join us, our sweet daughter and her sweet bf, see if spot them in one of the pics 💁🏽‍♀️❤️

We have been in Asia for 16 months!! Our time is up for now but exciting times ahead as we make our way to Rome to meet up with 65 creators from our YouTube Over 40 Course and Community.

We get the bonus of our daughter joining us on this trip. It will be so great to see her, especially for Mother’s Day this year. What a treat!

Time for a big mental shift as we leave Asia and prepare for travel around Europe and Africa before we return.

Enjoy a few photos from our most recent time in Bangkok. We got to do several meetups with community members as well as visiting with our Thai friends. We even had the privilege to visit and assist at the Foundation for Slum Child Care to serve lunch and play with the adorable kiddos.

Happy Songkran (Thai New Year) from Thailand!! It’s our 3rd new year celebration in the Land of Smiles. We started the Gregorian calendar new year in Chiang Mai then celebrated Chinese New Year and now Songkran in Bangkok.

For those who don’t know, Songkran is the biggest water fight in the world. Throngs flock to Thailand to celebrate by dousing each other with water in the streets.

The water is to wash away the bad luck and enter the new year fresh and clean. Locals will bless you with Din Sor Pong (a white clay powder mixed with water) its spread lightly on your cheeks and arms.

Last year we had friends in town and we celebrated together. This year we had a friend from our community in town so we went out with him one day and had a great time. We also celebrated with our Thai friends.

Songkran is such a joyous time of good hearted fun. We have come to truly love this celebration in Thailand. If you ever get the chance, come to Thailand April 13-15 for the time of your life!!

Enjoy a few pics of our shenanigans over the last 3 days. As you can see, Rob took things VERY seriously!😂😂

One year ago we were reeling from an unexpected double whammy. While we were mourning the loss of my beloved dad, we were caught in the middle of Bangkok’s biggest earthquake to date.

For lack of a better word, we were shaken. It took months for us to stop walking around in a daze. One year later we find ourselves in the same city that embraced us, gave us comfort and gave us hope. It’s one of the many reasons why we call it our second home.🙏🏽

We still struggle with effects from those difficult events but we are grateful to always have each other to lean on in these times, even when we are barely holding each other up.

We doubled down on travel after our 30th wedding anniversary in August. We committed to keep crossing things off of our “dream list”. We only have today, time is the only currency that you spend but you never know how much you have left. Choose wisely how you will spend it.🙏🏽❤️

PS: a special thank you to all of you who reached out to check on us and sent your prayers and good vibes, we appreciate more than you’ll ever know 🥹

500K subscribers!!! We are beyond belief! When we set out on the YouTube journey we never could have imagined what this would turn into.

Over the last few years we have added more channels as well as our private retirement travel community (course) and a YouTube course for those of us over 40.

What a privilege it has been for you to allow us to share our experiences and what we have learned along the way with you.

Hoping to get to 100K on Grounded Life Retirement Travel this year, we’ll see where the journey takes us. Thank you for coming along.🙏🏽

When we said we went on vacation in Saudi Arabia we got a lot of comments about why would one do such a thing, lol.

I don’t think many people have seen this incredible place, the Red Sea Project is an amazing community they built literally on the Red Sea.

They are several hotels that have over water villas as well as on land options. We stayed in for several properties in our time there, St.Regis, Nujuma Ritz Carlton, The Edition and The Intercontinental.

We did an over water Villa and 3 beachfront villas. They were each special in their own way. We used points for 3 stays and paid cash for one.

“The events” aside, we enjoyed the properties and the great service we got at each one. It was kind they were all trying to out service each other.

We are thankful we had the opportunity to see this beautiful place for ourselves. We hope to be back someday to see it again after it is all finished. There are several other properties we have our eye on.

We’ll have video tours of each one on Grounded Life Travel in the coming weeks so keep an eye out for those. In the meantime, enjoy these pics from each of the properties.

Hello friends! First, we want to say that we are safe back in Thailand. For the past 8 days we have been in Saudi Arabia on vacation when things took a turn.

This Sunday we will share lots more from our experience and some things we learned along the way. Join us on YouTube livestream at Noon eastern time on Grounded Life Retirement Travel. 🙏🏽

Thank you to everyone in our community who checked on us, it was extremely comforting. We are also thankful to the people of Saudi Arabia who took us in and took excellent care of us.

See you guys on Sunday:-)

Everyone wants to know what we really loved about India and here is the truth, it was the people and the food. Of course we loved the beauty of the landscapes but the people and the food is what really sold us on India.

We had no idea what to expect from the people of India. They recently took over the title of the most populated country in the world, 1.46 BILLION people to be exact (ish). Thats a lot of people.

We were met with kind, gracious people who just wanted to chat with us. As we wondered the streets aimlessly we ran into several people who called us over for a chat. They didn’t want to sell us anything, both shops sold things we could not buy (auto parts and kitchen wares). But they just wanted to chat.

It hard to explain the sincere warmth we felt when chatting with people around town. We also experienced unbelievable service from the staff at the hotels and attractions we visited. Yes, they are paid to be nice but it felt genuine, not forced.

Now let’s talk about the food. To be honest neither of us had much experience with Indian food. We did not grow up in areas where this was readily available and I(Allie) grew up eating Dominican food, lol.

We went in a little leery due to Robs severe nut allergy. We brought all of our epi pens just in case but it was never an issue. When I tell you we had a moment with this food, I mean it.

Indian food has a very unique style and flavor. It’s truly unlike any other food in the world (remember we’ve been to nearly 70 countries). I feel like Indian food is a party for all of your senses.

Needless to say, even though we are no longer in India, we continue to order Indian food wherever we are.😂

That’s the beautiful thing about travel, you go out and learn for yourself. You can not just go by what anyone tells you, even us, sharing our experience with you. You must try it and see for yourself.

There are several videos up on Grounded Life Travel: https://youtube.com/?si=hJ5Upb2Qqil6-cYb from our trip so far, more to come.

We’ve also shared our itinerary with our hotels on Grounded life Points website: https://groundedlifepoints.com/2026/02/09/a-luxurious-rajasthan-journey-delhi-jaipur-agra-udaipur-and-jodhpur/

We have a lot of new faces around here now so it’s time for a little (re) introduction:

Hello friends (new and old), we are Rob and Allie. We’ve been married 30 years and when our kids went off to college we decided to run away from home.😂

We sold everything we owned, house, cars and all of our stuff (no storage unit). We started traveling the world with the intention of stopping after one year but 6 months in we knew we would not stop.

We love moving from place to place and living in different countries, one month or more at a time (we know this life is not for everyone). We retired with only $300,000 and never looked back. After a couple years on the road we decided to start a YouTube channel to document our adventures and share them with others.

We later expanded to a few more YouTube channels and now we have over 350K subscribers over our monetized channels. Last year we put together a course on how to do YouTube for those of us over 40 along with a private community. We have great time helping others to build another income stream to fund their dreams.

We have been traveling full time for 8 years and have been to nearly 70 countries on 5 continents. We’ve stayed in over 40 countries for at least a month. Several countries we have returned to many times, like Thailand where we hold a long term visa.

We use credit card points to help fund our hotel stays and flights. We use cruises and trains to get from place to place whenever possible. We are not sponsored so we pay for all travel on our own or with points. We share lots more on YouTube about how we do this.

For those who don’t know, here are our YouTube channels where we share different aspects of our travels:
