Today on 10 April 2025, Stamford International University organized “Meet the Ambassador” featuring H.E. Mr. Faiyaz Murshid Kazi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bangladesh to the Kingdom of Thailand at Stamford International University (Bangkok Campus).

In the morning, the Ambassador met the Bangladeshi Faculty Member and Students of the University. In his address titled “Strengthening Thailand–Bangladesh Relations in the New Era of Business Innovation and Opportunities,” the Ambassador emphasized the growing potential of bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, innovation, and people-to-people exchanges. The event also featured an interactive Q&A session,

The Ambassador also attended Stamford University’s Thai New Year (Songkran) celebrations. The Ambassador offered New Year blessings to the university community and took part in the traditional water-pouring ceremony.

On 24 March 2025, H.E. Ambassador Faiyaz Murshid Kazi visited Kasetsart University and was warmly welcomed by Professor Dr. Dokrak Marod, Vice President for Research and International Affairs. The visit included a special book presentation ceremony at the Eco-Library, where the Ambassador presented a collection of books on Bangladesh’s culture, history, economy, and development.

The books will serve as a valuable resource for students, faculty, and researchers, strengthening academic cooperation and cultural exchange between Bangladesh and Thailand. The visit also included a tour of the library’s facilities and an exhibition showcasing past academic contributions.

H.E. The Ambassador paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ms. Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, Minister of Culture of the Royal Thai Government, on Friday, 21 March.

During their meeting, both sides highlighted the strong cultural ties between the two countries and expressed their commitment to exploring further opportunities for cultural exchange and engagement. They also emphasized the importance of strengthening people-to-people connections.

Both sides agreed to sign an MoU on Cultural Cooperation at an early date and to activate the Joint Committee Mechanism to facilitate regular interactions and collaborations in the cultural sector.

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Bangkok in collaboration with the ASEAN Studies Center, Chulalongkorn University organized an Academic Seminar titled “Bangladesh towards ASEAN: A Room with A View” at the Chumbhot-Pantip Conference Room, Prajadhipok-Rambhaibarni Building Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok.
The seminar underscored the possibilities for further strengthening Bangladesh-ASEAN ties and discussed critical issues that need to be addressed for fostering such ties. Professor Shahab Enam Khan, Department of International Relations, Jahangirnagar University, delivered the keynote speech which was followed by discussion by Professor Sineenat Sermcheep, PhD., Director ASEAN Studies Center Chulalongkorn University and M Ashique Rahman, Senior Research Fellow, Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS).

During the panel discussion part, moderated by Ambassador Mr. Faiyaz Murshid Kazi, four panelists, Prof. Dr. Somrudee (Meprasert) Jitpraphai, Department of Marine Science, Chulalongkorn University, Dr. Choltis Dhirathiti, Executive Director, ASEAN University Network (AUN), Dr. Cherdsak Virapat, former Director General of CIRDAP and Dr. Ratchada Jayagupta, Director, Asian Research Center for Migration, Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University discussed on Cooperation on Fisheries and Aquaculture, Digital Transformation, Disaster Management and Preparedness and Development and Gender respectively. The panel discussion was followed by an interactive question-answer session.

The seminar drew the appropriate level of attention and engagement and was attended by representatives from relevant Government department, ASEAN experts, think tank, academics, Embassies, International Organizations, media, and students.

Ramadan Harmony: Iftar & Meet with H.E. the Ambassador at Prince of Songkla University

On March 13, 2025, H.E. Mr. Faiyaz Murshid Kazi joined the Ramadan Harmony: Iftar & Meet with H.E. the Ambassador event at Prince of Songkla University. Organized by the Bangladesh Student Association, PSU Hat Yai, with support from International Students Association at PSu and the Muslim Student Society PSU Hat Yai, the event brought together students, faculty, and community members in a spirit of unity and cultural exchange.

The Iftar gathering provided a meaningful opportunity to connect with Bangladeshi teachers and students in southern Thailand and strengthen people-to-people ties between Bangladesh and Thailand.
