ชื่อ “ผาลาด” ชื่อก็แปลก ผะเลิด แปลว่า ลื่นมาจากเส้นทางที่ทั้งคนและช้างเคยลื่นล้มบ่อย ๆ

ที่นี่มีเจดีย์ทรงพม่า (สมัยครูบาศรีวิชัย), วิหารพระเจ้ากือนา, หอพระริมลำธาร และบ่อน้ำทิพย์

บรรยากาศเงียบสงบ ธรรมชาติล้อมรอบ เหมือนหลุดเข้าไปในอีกโลกหนึ่ง

While in Chiang Mai, a friend took me to Wat Pha Lat (Wat Sakithaka Mani) — a hidden temple nestled in the forest at the base of Doi Suthep. Built back in 1355 AD, it’s peaceful, mystical, and full of charm.

The name Pha Lat means “slippery cliff,” from the days when people and even elephants often lost their footing here.

You’ll find a Burmese-style stupa (from the era of Kruba Srivichai), the Viharn of King Kuena, a shrine by a mountain stream, and a sacred well believed to hold divine water.

Quiet, shady, and surrounded by nature — it feels like stepping into another world.
