Some places in Chiang Mai are beautiful.
And then there are places like Wat Chedi Luang.

Standing in front of this massive ancient temple, you can literally feel the history around you.
Built over 600 years ago in the heart of Chiang Mai’s old city, Wat Chedi Luang was once the tallest structure in the ancient Lanna Kingdom.

The giant chedi was partly destroyed by an earthquake centuries ago — but that’s exactly what makes it so impressive today.
It’s not perfect.
It’s real.
And every crack tells a story.

Inside the temple hall, golden details shine everywhere, while outside the old brick structure quietly reminds visitors how powerful Chiang Mai’s history truly is.

Many tourists walk through it quickly.
But when you actually understand the stories behind this place, the experience becomes completely different.

A Birthday to Remember. Chiang Dao.

Some moments you can plan.

Today was one of those days.

We kept it quiet all day.
No hints, no big words — just enjoying the journey together.

And then in the evening…
everything came together.

A rooftop setting.
A beautiful view over the mountains.
And a surprise that no one saw coming.

Seeing that reaction —
that mix of confusion, happiness and pure joy —
that’s exactly why I love what I do.

Because organizing a special day like this for a guest — and for the whole group —
is part of the job when you’re truly passionate about being a tour guide.

This wasn’t just a birthday.
It was the perfect ending to an incredible one-week journey from Bangkok to Chiang Mai.

Chiang Dao – More Than Just a Stop.

Sometimes the best memories are the ones you don’t see coming.

Today was one of those days.

We started somewhere unexpected in Chiang Dao — a quiet café surrounded by nature, far away from everything.
No plans explained. Just going with the flow.

From there, we continued to a riverside spot where local life was in full swing.
People laughing, celebrating, bamboo rafts drifting by…
and suddenly water splashing everywhere.

Even the vendors came floating past — balloons, sweets, cold drinks — all right on the river.
It felt chaotic, fun, completely real.

And to end the day…
a peaceful stay in the middle of the rice fields.

No one really knew what was coming next.
And that’s exactly how it was meant to be.

Sometimes the journey is not just about places…
it’s about building moments.

Today, we slowed down in Chiang Dao — a place that feels completely different from the busy cities.
No rush, no noise… just mountains, fresh air and space to breathe.

We found this beautiful, peaceful spot by the water — simple, calm, almost untouched.
Sitting there, enjoying a cold drink, watching the reflections on the lake…
those are the moments my guests remember the most.

No big attractions.
No crowds.
Just time to relax and take it all in.

Chiang Dao has a special kind of energy — the kind you don’t really explain… you just feel it.

One of the most impressive temple complexes around Chiang Mai: Wat Ban Den (Wat Den Sali Sri Muang Kaen).

Arriving in Chiang Mai… and stepping into a completely different world.

Today we visited Wat Ban Den (Wat Den Sali Sri Muang Kaen) — one of the most impressive temple complexes in Northern Thailand.

About 50 km outside Chiang Mai, this place is not just a temple… it’s a whole universe of colors, details and quiet spirituality.
Built in 1894 and later transformed into the stunning complex you see today, it combines traditional Lanna architecture with influences from Myanmar and Laos — every building looks different, yet everything fits perfectly together.

Walking through the grounds feels almost unreal:
giant naga staircases, golden halls, dark pagodas and intricate carvings everywhere you look.

But what makes it special is the atmosphere.
Despite its size, it’s calm, peaceful… and far less crowded than the famous temples in Chiang Mai city.

💡 Small insider tip:
Take your time to explore the entire area — many visitors only see the main hall, but the smaller temples and viewpoints on the hill are just as beautiful (and often completely quiet).

For my guests, this was one of those places where you don’t need many words… you just walk, look around — and smile.

And yes… we finally arrived in Chiang Mai after an incredible journey.
