Endless clouds of glassfish drift across the reef, turning the entire dive site into a living, moving wall of silver. These dense schools don’t just create incredible visuals — they’re a sign of rich, nutrient-filled waters and a healthy ecosystem.

Glassfish are small, transparent schooling fish that use strength in numbers for protection — and when they gather like this, the reef truly comes alive.

Where glassfish gather, predators follow. Trevallies, snappers and hunting reef fish weave through the swarm, making every dive dynamic and unpredictable. It’s this constant interaction — small fish, big action — that makes Richelieu Rock one of Thailand’s most iconic dive sites.

The curious stare — equal parts suspicion and curiosity...

Clownfish are famously territorial, rarely straying far from their host anemone. But get too close, and you’ll be on the receiving end of this unimpressed glare, or perhaps even an 'attack' as the clownfish rush out in defence.

It’s not aggression for the sake of it, it’s survival. This tiny guardian relies entirely on its anemone for protection, while keeping its host clean and free from parasites in return. A perfect example of life on the reef: bold, balanced, and beautifully interconnected.
