Coral reefs have an incredible ability to recover naturally, but only when the conditions are right. 🪸
Today, many reefs are facing repeated bleaching events, stronger storms, unstable coral rubble, algae overgrowth and other pressures that make natural recovery much more difficult.
So where does coral restoration fit in?
In our latest blog, we explore why some reefs bounce back while others continue to decline, and how carefully managed restoration projects can help give damaged reefs a better chance alongside wider conservation efforts.
Drawing on our experiences at the DiveRACE Coral Restoration Project in Phuket, we share what we've seen firsthand and why we believe restoration has an important role to play in protecting our oceans.
