As your travel advisor, I can't stress this enough: travel insurance is an absolute must-have for every single overseas trip, no matter how short or how close to home.

Many Australians mistakenly believe that Medicare will cover them if something goes wrong while they are abroad. The truth? Medicare offers little to no coverage for overseas medical emergencies. Imagine a sudden illness, an accident, or even a medical evacuation – without insurance, the costs can be astronomical and financially devastating.

While it's true that Australia has Reciprocal Healthcare Agreements with a handful of countries, these agreements often provide limited coverage and are NOT a substitute for comprehensive travel insurance.

Travel Update: Mount Etna! 🌋 You might have seen news about Mount Etna’s recent activity in Sicily. Europe’s most active volcano put on a dramatic show on Monday, with a significant eruption creating impressive ash plumes.
The good news for travellers planning a trip to beautiful Sicily is that the activity has largely subsided, and Catania Airport (CTA) remains operational. While there were some brief disruptions, officials confirmed no immediate danger to local populations, and the summit area (which is typically restricted) was the primary affected zone.

It’s a powerful reminder that while we can’t control natural phenomena, staying informed is key. I always keep a close eye on global events and local conditions to ensure my clients have the most up-to-date information for their travels. Your safety and peace of mind are my top priorities!
