Tunisia's presidency on Friday extended the country's state of emergency for an additional two months as the country battles a violent Islamic insurgency that last month killed 38 tourists on a beach.

South Africans have 3 month in Tunisia visa-free!!!!

"TUNIS (TAP) - Nationals from 20 countries, mainly eastern Europe and Africa, have been exempted from entry visa to the Tunisian territory.
The decision was announced, Friday, by the Foreign Affairs Ministry in a statement.

Nationals of the following countries are concerned by this decision:

the Russian Federation, Czech Republic, Estonia, Montenegro, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia, Moldova, Australia, Singapore, New-Zealand, Iran, Costa Rica, Comoros Republic, Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Namibia, Gabon and South Africa.

To benefit of this decision, nationals of the above-mentioned countries should be in possession of a valid travel document and their stay must not exceed three months, the statement notes.

The Foreign Ministry explains this decision by "the willingness to develop co-operation and strengthen Tunisia’s ties with these friendly countries.""
