Selime Monastery is the largest one in Cappadocia. It has two floors and the floors date back to the 7. and 9. centuries. There are depictions such as the ascension of Christ and Mary. Since the old market used to set up in Selime, caravans would come here and people took the camels to the central part of the cathedral for safety. The whole complex’s aim is to house those wanting to rest and worship.
