Güneş Tanrısı Helios.

Yunan Mitolojisi'ne göre Helios, her sabah kendisi için kutsal sayılan horozların ötüşü ile uyanır, uzak doğuda kendisine kurduğu muhteşem sarayından ayrılır ve bütün gün boyunca gökyüzünün ortasındaki dar bir yoldan akşam Okeanos nehrine gelir. (Okeanos yeryüzündeki bütün tatlı suların ana kaynağıdır)
Tanrı, olağanüstü bir hızla koşan 4 atın çektiği arabasına biner . Yeryüzünün etrafını çevreleyen bu nehire ulaşan atlar yorgunluklarını nehre girip yıkanmakla ve etrafta karınlarını doyurmakla geçirirken Helios, altından yapılmış bir sarayda dinlenir.
Gece olunca da demirci tanrı Hephaistos'un yaptığı altından bir tekneye atları ile binip doğudaki sarayına ulaşana kadar rahat bir uyku çekerek gelir. Doğudaki sarayına ulaşınca önceki sabah gibi tekrar arabasına biner ve Okeanos'a gitmek için yola koyulur.

Bu her gün tekrarlanan bir yolculuktur.

The Tomb of Ramses VI, nestled deep within the Valley of the Kings, stands as one of ancient Egypt’s most magnificent burial sites. Originally started for Pharaoh Ramses V, it was later claimed and expanded by his successor, Ramses VI, in the 12th century BCE. Its long descending corridor carved into the cliffs symbolically led the pharaoh’s soul into the underworld, setting the stage for his eternal journey.

The tomb’s walls and ceilings are covered with vivid depictions from the Book of Gates, the Book of Caverns, and the Book of the Dead. These sacred texts illustrate the nightly voyage of the sun god through the underworld and the trials awaiting the king in his passage to immortality. The vaulted ceiling of the burial chamber is especially striking painted with a celestial map where the goddess Nut arches across the sky, embodying cosmic order and renewal.

Though plundered in antiquity, fragments of Ramses VI’s red granite sarcophagus remain, carved with protective deities and inscriptions. The artistry reflects both the grandeur and the changing styles of New Kingdom funerary art rich in theology, yet bold in design. Rediscovered in the 19th century, the tomb offers modern visitors not only a breathtaking visual experience but also profound insight into how Egypt’s later rulers envisioned eternity more than 3,000 years ago.

Dara Antik Kenti, Mardin’in Nusaybin ilçesine bağlı bir köyde yer alan, Roma İmparatorluğu’nun doğu sınırında önemli bir garnizon kentiydi. M.S. 4.-6. yüzyıllar arasında kurulan ve kullanılan kent, Roma, Pers ve Bizans dönemlerinde stratejik bir merkez oldu. Adını Pers kralı Darius’tan aldığı düşünülen Dara, surları, agora, nekropol, sarnıçlar ve kilise gibi kalıntılarıyla dikkat çeker. Kent, özellikle Roma-Pers savaşlarında önemli rol oynadı ve bugün arkeolojik bir sit alanı olarak ziyaret edilmektedir.
