Alexander the Great conquered empires — but not Termessos.

High in the Ta**us Mountains above Antalya, the people of Termessos used what they had best: impossible cliffs, narrow passes, and pure stubbornness.

In 333 BC, Alexander reached this “eagle’s nest” and understood the problem immediately. Taking it would cost too much time, too many men, and too much pride.

So he moved on.
