DON’T make this mistake in Rome 👀🇮🇹

A lot of first-time visitors don’t realise Rome actually has dress codes at some of its most famous sights especially religious sites like St. Peter’s Basilica and the Pantheon.

And yes… people DO get turned away.

A few quick things to know before you visit 👇

👉 shoulders and knees should be covered inside churches
👉 hats need to be removed inside St. Peter’s Basilica
👉 the stricter checks usually happen at St. Peter’s Basilica + the Pantheon

Honestly, it’s an easy mistake to avoid if you just pack one respectful sightseeing outfit for the day.

Rome is definitely one of those cities where knowing a few small things beforehand makes the trip SO much smoother 😅

Ever had a travel experience that completely surprised you?

Welcome to my series on travel customs that caught me off guard… or might surprise you too. This one’s from when I was in Italy 🇮🇹

I didn’t realise this at first… but a “bar” in Italy isn’t what you think. It’s not a bar for drinks at night… it’s where you go for coffee.

And not just any coffee… a quick espresso, standing at the counter, in and out.

I remember walking in thinking I’d sit down and take my time… but that’s not really how it works. You usually order at the till, sometimes pay first, take the receipt to the barista, hand it over, and they make your espresso straight away.

You drink it quickly… and then just leave. It’s literally part of the daily routine.

I even sat down once thinking it didn’t matter… and ended up paying way more for the exact same coffee 😅

Definitely one of those moments where I realised… I was doing it completely wrong.

Heading to Italy soon?

I wish someone warned me about this before Marrakech 😬

The Medina is BEAUTIFUL…

But wow it can feel overwhelming at first 😭

Especially:
👉 getting lost
👉 the scooters
👉 people trying to guide you places

I nearly skipped Verona… which honestly would’ve been a huge mistake!😭

I thought it would just feel like a smaller Florence.

But Verona felt calmer, cleaner, less rushed, and weirdly romantic without trying too hard.

I remember walking along the river at sunset thinking “wait… why is nobody talking about this place more?”

First time in Florence? These are 10 things I’d genuinely recommend doing!

Florence ended up being one of my favourite cities in Italy.

It somehow feels historic, romantic, chaotic, artistic, and food obsessed all at once ✨

If I was visiting Florence for the first time again, this is what I’d do:

👉 Visit Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and see the Duomo up close

👉 See Michelangelo’s David at Accademia Gallery – honestly even more impressive in person

👉 Walk across Ponte Vecchio at sunset

👉 Try truffle pasta at Trattoria ZaZa 🍝

👉 Get an affogato from Vivoli ☕🍨

👉 Watch the sunset from Piazzale Michelangelo

👉 Visit the Medici Chapel and look up at the incredible ceiling 👀

👉 Do a Vespa tour through the Tuscan countryside 🇮🇹

👉 Wander around the streets near Piazza della Signoria and just get lost for a while

👉 Stop for aperitivo and a wine board at La Prosciutteria 🍷

Honestly… Florence is one of those cities that’s impossible not to romanticise ❤️

Comment “FLORENCE” and I’ll send you my Florence guide.

Rome at night is honestly better than Rome during the day 👀

I know that sounds dramatic… but I stand by it.

Once the tour groups disappear and the heat drops a little the city feels completely different.

Some of my favourite memories weren’t even major sights.

They were walking past lit-up churches, late dinners in Trastevere, random quiet streets near the Pantheon.

That’s the Rome I actually miss.

Planning your first trip to Singapore? Here are a few things I wish I knew before visiting 👀🇸🇬

👉 Best area to stay:
I’d recommend staying somewhere central like Marina Bay, Bugis, Chinatown, or near an MRT station. It makes getting around SO much easier.

👉 Best time to visit:
Singapore is hot all year round 😅
I’d personally avoid spending too much time outside during the middle of the day and plan outdoor exploring earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon.

👉 Main sights you shouldn’t miss:
Gardens by the Bay, Cloud Forest, Haji Lane, Chinatown, Marina Bay at night, and Jewel Changi Airport were some of my highlights.

👉 Food you should try:
Chicken rice, laksa, satay, kaya toast, and visiting a hawker centre at least once 👀

👉 One thing that surprised me:
How EASY Singapore was to explore. The MRT system is honestly one of the easiest public transport systems I’ve used.

Comment “SINGAPORE” and I’ll send you my free Singapore guide.
