Venice doesn’t have to be expensive!

In fact, one of my favourite food experiences in Venice was also one of the cheapest!
We’re talking Aperol Spritz for just €4 and some of the best little snacks you’ll find in Venice!

If you’re visiting Venice, there’s one thing you absolutely need to try: CICCHETTI!

Think of them as Venice’s version of tapas. Little bite-sized snacks, often served on bread with toppings like seafood, cheese, vegetables or cured meats.

And they’re delicious!

👇Here’s how to experience Venice like a local 👇

- Find a traditional bacaro, a Venetian w**e bar
- Order a few cicchetti to try different flavours
- Pair them with an Aperol Spritz or a glass of local w**e
- Enjoy a casual Venetian aperitivo without spending a fortune!

We even found Aperol Spritz for just €4!

It’s such a fun way to explore Venice’s food scene, especially if you’re travelling on a budget.

And honestly, I’d choose an afternoon hopping between little Venetian w**e bars over an overpriced tourist restaurant any day!

One of my favourite free things in Rome? 🇮🇹💧

The city is covered in tiny drinking fountains called Nasoni, and once you know what they are, you’ll start spotting them everywhere.

They’re not just for looks either...
💦 Fresh drinking water flows all day, every day.
❄️ The water is cold and safe to drink.
🤯 Cover the end of the spout with your finger and water shoots out of the little hole on top, making it much easier to drink.

They’re dotted all across Rome, so don’t waste money buying bottled water while you’re exploring.

One of the best views in Rome isn’t free… but I’d happily pay for it again!

Most people visit St Peter’s Basilica to admire its incredible interior, but did you know you can actually climb to the top of its famous dome?

And the views over Vatican City and Rome are absolutely incredible!

👉 But there are a few things you should know before you go.

⛪ Entry to St Peter’s Basilica is free, but climbing the dome costs extra.

🎟️ Dome climb tickets: €8 to take the stairs, €10 for the lift + stairs

🪜 551 steps to the top: If you choose the lift, you’ll still need to climb around 320 steps!

😳 The staircase gets VERY narrow: As you approach the top, the walls curve with the shape of the dome. Definitely something to consider if you’re claustrophobic.

📸 The views are worth it! You’ll get an incredible view looking directly down over St Peter’s Square and across Rome.

☕ There’s even a rooftop café! You can stop for a coffee on the terrace before or after your climb.

Don’t leave Singapore without exploring THESE neighbourhoods!

Most first-time visitors head straight to Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay and the famous attractions.

But some of my favourite places in Singapore are actually its colourful neighbourhoods!
If you’re planning a trip to Singapore, here are 5 areas you absolutely need to explore 👇

📍 Joo Chiat & Katong
One of my favourite areas in Singapore! Think colourful Peranakan shophouses, beautiful streets, cute cafés and incredible local food. You could easily spend half a day wandering around here!

📍 Kampong Glam
Home to the famous Sultan Mosque and Haji Lane, where you’ll find colourful street art, independent boutiques, quirky cafés and some great Middle Eastern food.

📍 Chinatown
A must-visit for its beautiful temples, traditional shophouses, markets and amazing food! Don’t miss the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Chinatown Complex Food Centre.

📍 Little India
One of Singapore’s most colourful neighbourhoods! Explore the vibrant streets, visit the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, admire the colourful House of Tan Teng Niah and stop for some delicious Indian food.

📍 Bugis
Perfect if you love shopping, street food and a lively atmosphere! Explore Bugis Street Market for affordable fashion, souvenirs and snacks, then wander over to the colourful streets around Bugis Junction.

The best part?
You don’t need to spend much to explore these neighbourhoods, and they’re some of the best places to experience Singapore beyond the usual tourist attractions!

Here’s something many first-time visitors don’t realise about Rome... 🇮🇹

You can’t always wear whatever you want when sightseeing.

At religious sites like St. Peter’s Basilica and the Pantheon, you’ll need to dress respectfully.

Think:
👕 Covered shoulders
👖 Covered knees
🧢 Hats off for men inside St. Peter’s Basilica

It’s an easy tip to remember, but one that can save you from being refused entry.

I actually think Trastevere is worth visiting during the day, not just for dinner. It's a lovely neighbourhood to wander through before the evening crowds arrive.

I made one mistake in Florence that I wouldn’t make again... 🇮🇹

I assumed I could buy tickets when I arrived.

Spoiler: I couldn’t.

The attractions I wanted to see most were either sold out or had hours-long waits.

Instead of wandering the city with a gelato, I spent way too much time checking ticket availability and standing in queues.

If you’re visiting Florence, book your must-do attractions before you arrive. You’ll spend far more time enjoying the city.
