There are approximately one million lists ranking the "safest countries for solo female travel." Cute. Not that helpful. A country can top every safety index and still hand you the worst week of your life if it's not actually the right fit for you.

So we asked our 580k+ member FB group about their actual first solo trips. The good, the chaotic, the "I called my mom crying from a hostel bathroom" ones. Then we turned it into a checklist, because you deserve better than a vibes-based decision at 1am with 40 tabs open.

🥜 The checklist, in a nutshell:

What language do they speak?
How solid is the tourism infrastructure?
Can you wander on foot?
What's the culture shock level?
How are women treated day to day?
How much budget cushion would you actually have?

Your first trip isn't about finding the safest place on paper. It's about finding the place that matches where you actually are right now, not where you'll be after three more trips build up your solo travel muscle.
