台灣(R.O.C.)
LOCAL MARMALADE MAKER WINS BRONZE AWARD/S IN GLOBAL MARMALADE COMPETITION
Local preserves company SWEET365 is celebrating having beaten entrants from over 40 countries to receive a prestigious BRONZE award at the 15th World’s Original Marmalade Awards. The competition had its most successful year yet, receiving record entries into both the Artisan and B&B competitions, and over 3000 entries in total from all around the globe. With entries from countries including Lebanon, Japan, the USA, Argentina, Senegal and Australia, this Award proves that their marmalade really is world class.
SWEET365 from Kainan St., Linyuan Dist., Kaohsiung City 832, Taiwan (R.O.C.) has just scooped a Bronze award in the 15th World’s Original Marmalade Awards. SWEET365 won one of the marmalade world’s most prestigious accolades for its Spicy Hot Marmalade in the Artisan/B&B competition, which impressed judges with its appearance, colour, consistency, aroma and flavour.
Although the Festival sadly had to be cancelled owing to growing concerns about the Coronavirus, the competitions were a huge success and winners were announced as usual in the press and on the Dalemain website on 14th March, following a private Award ceremony. The Festival organisers are already making plans for a citrus celebration later in the year, and hope to be able to welcome all Award winners to Dalemain in 2021 for a double celebration.
Owner SWEET365 said they were delighted to win the award: “We are so pleased to have won this award against such strong competition from all over the world. We have been making our marmalade for 8 years and our customers have always told us that it is some of the best marmalade they’ve ever tasted. It’s very good to have an Award to prove it! We think the secret to our delicious marmalade is with effort. We’ve got our preserve pans at the ready to make lots more jars so please come and try it at (details here of where it can be bought)!”
The Artisan and B&B judges for 2020 were a prestigious panel of food industry experts, including Fortnum & Mason grocery buyer Sarah Metcalf, Waitrose consultant and chocolatier Will Torrent, Award-winning food writer and chef Olivia Potts and longstanding Awards patron Dan Lepard, food writer and baking guru.
Jane Hasell-McCosh, founder of the Awards, said: ‘It has been a special joy to announce this year’s Award winners, and we have been absolutely staggered by the quality and standard of entries into the 2020 Marmalade Awards. There have been so many delicious flavours and ingredients, and so many highly skilled producers, who should be incredibly proud of their products, and their achievements. The Artisan and B&B Awards have always been about championing small producers who are making high quality products, and in the current circumstances I think it is more important than ever that people support them. Every jar is made with so much love, all over the world.’
The Awards are sponsored by Fortnum & Mason and are proud to raise money for palliative care around the world. This year’s key beneficiary is once again Hospice at Home Carlisle & North Lakeland, and to date the Awards have raised well over £250,000 for palliative care around the world. The event is also supported by Thursday Cottage, who make the winning Homemade Marmalade, 50p from each jar of which also goes to support palliative care.
