River Tracing, otherwise known throughout the world as river trekking, canyoning or canyoneering is a popular outdoor activity in Taiwan that involves hiking upstream through mountain rivers. On guided excursions led by professional, certified River Tracing instructors, participants are lead through gorgeous natural scenery to waterfalls and rocks where they may swim free, climb and dive off rocks, wade through deep pools, trek through the river and learn about the surrounding areas. River tracing is an activity that can be done by all people of any age and skill, not requiring any level of physical ability. River Tracing combines both leisure and sport as it allows participants to explore different areas of Hualien and to discover and experience Taiwan's most beautiful and enthralling attraction; its natural environment. Participants will have the chance to observe the mountain wildlife and satisfy their cravings for an exciting outdoor adventure in Taiwan's most alluring landscape. The River King offers half-day and full-day tours to 6 different rivers, all within a 20 minute drive from Hualien city. The River King also offers shrimp catching as a fun night time activity.
Prices: Half-day Tour: 1200NT per person
Full-day Tour: 2400NT per person
Price includes: tour, equipment (safety helmet, life jacket, wet-suit, waterboots and gloves) , pick-up from any point in Hualien city, lunch for full-day tours, and coffee and snack for half-day tours.
