Dear Parents,
Over the past four weeks, my family and I have experienced a heartbreaking loss. My beloved wife, Aggie, passed away, and there are no words to fully express the sadness we feel. She was not only my life partner, but also my partner in building this school.
Together, we poured our hearts into creating a place where children feel supported, encouraged, and inspired to learn. This school was our shared dream, and it remains one of the most meaningful parts of my life.
I want to reassure every family: our school will continue. I will not close it.
Dongshi is my home. This community is my family. The friendships we have built, the trust you have placed in us, and the joy of watching your children grow are deeply precious to me. Although I am originally from New Zealand, my life is here in Taiwan, and I plan to remain here for the rest of my life.
Continuing the school is my way of honoring my wife’s memory and the passion we shared for education. I am committed to maintaining the caring environment and quality teaching that you and your children deserve.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and understanding during this difficult time. Your messages and encouragement have given me strength. I look forward to continuing this journey together with all of you.

在過去的四個星期裡，我和我的家人經歷了一個令人心碎的失去。我摯愛的妻子Aggie離世了，任何言語都無法完全表達我們心中的悲痛。她不僅是我的人生伴侶，也是與我一起建立這所學校的夥伴。
我們一起全心投入，創造了一個讓孩子們感到被支持、被鼓勵並受到啟發去學習的地方。這所學校是我們共同的夢想，也是我人生中最有意義的一部分。
我想向每一個家庭保證：我們的學校會繼續經營下去，我不會關閉它。
東勢是我的家，您們就是我的家人。我們之間建立的友誼、您對我們的信任，以及看著孩子們成長的喜悅，對我來說都非常珍貴。雖然我原本來自紐西蘭，但我的生活在台灣，我也計畫在這裡度過餘生。
繼續經營這所學校，是我紀念妻子與我們共同教育熱情的一種方式。我會致力於維持一個充滿關懷的環境，以及您和孩子們所應得的優質教學。
