The Ngorongoro crater is also the world's largest inactive caldera. The crater floor covers about 260 square kilometers and is the crater is about 600 meters deep. Due to the collapse of an active volcano over 2 million years ago, the Ngorongoro crater was formed.

There are around 30,000 animals ranging from leopard, cheetah, elephant and hyena to warthog, buffalo, impala and specious of birds. It’s also one of the best places to see the endangered black rhino and black-maned male lions.
Olmoti and Empakai crater for a nature walk, Maasai Boma cultural tour, Lake Magadi of Ngorongoro is an alkaline crater lake, with the name 'Magadi' being Swahili for soda. It is often inhabited by thousands of lesser flamingoes and gets its water from combination of rainfall and a stream that drains water from Olmoti crater in the north.

The Tarangire National Park is known as a wonderful birding destination and also features large numbers of game, particularly during the dry season, when the Tarangire River is the only source of water in the area. The landscape is of particular interest too, due to the high number of scenic baobab trees.

Ngorongoro Crater is the caldera that measures between 16km and 19km across and has an area of 264 square km.
The Crater is well-known for its high concentration of wildlife worldwide.

* A group or pride, can be up to 30 Lions, depending on how much food and water is available.
* Female Lions are the main hunters. While they’re out looking for food, the males guard the pride’s territory and their young.
* A Lion’s roar can be heard up to eight kilometer's away.
* Lions scent mark their territory, using their wee, to create a border.
