3-DAY / 2-NIGHT TARANGIRE, NGORONGORO CRATER & LAKE MANYARA
DAY 1: ZANZIBAR → ARUSHA → TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Begin your adventure with a scheduled morning flight from Zanzibar to Arusha Airport. On arrival, a friendly and experienced driver-guide will meet you and give a brief overview of your safari plan. You’ll then set off on a picturesque drive across the Maasai plains and traditional settlements toward Tarangire National Park, often referred to as the elephant haven. Famous for its iconic baobab trees and the Tarangire River, this park attracts large gatherings of elephants, along with buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, and more. Stay alert for predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs, and enjoy the chance to spot some of the park’s 500+ bird species, including the Yellow-collared Lovebird and Ashy Starling. You’ll have a picnic lunch inside the park and continue with an afternoon wildlife viewing session. As the day winds down, you’ll leave the park and drive to Mto wa Mbu, a vibrant town where you will spend the night.
DAY 2: FULL-DAY EXPLORATION OF NGORONGORO CRATER
Today is devoted to a full-day game drive inside the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. With its rich ecosystem and incredibly high wildlife density, the crater offers exceptional opportunities to spot animals at close range, including lions, elephants, hippos, black rhinos, and a wide range of birdlife. A picnic lunch will be served at a scenic spot within the crater. Later in the evening, you will ascend the crater walls and return to Mto wa Mbu for dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.
DAY 3: LAKE MANYARA → ARUSHA → ZANZIBAR
After breakfast, head to Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive. The park is known for its lush groundwater forest, tree-climbing lions, large flocks of flamingos, and diverse wildlife. Following your exploration of the park, visit a Maasai Boma, where you’ll be welcomed into the traditional lifestyle of the Maasai community. Enjoy cultural dances, hear stories about their customs, and gain insight into their daily life. In the afternoon, continue your journey back to Arusha. Depending on your flight arrangements, you will be dropped at the airport for your return flight to Zanzibar taking with your unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s landscapes, wildlife, and culture.
