KILIMANJARO CLIMB -7 DAYS VIA MACHAME ROUTE

The 7-days Machame route to Kilimanjaro is a popular and scenic climbing route, known for its high success rate (around 95%) and diverse landscapes. It's a camping route, meaning you sleep in tents at designated campsites. The route offers a "hike high, sleep low" acclimatization strategy, which contributes to its high success rate.

All our Kilimanjaro climbs include:

2 nights accommodation at a high-end hotel before the climb

1-night accommodation at a high-end hotel after the climb.

Pricing:

STANDARD PACKAGE 2025

$ 2,850 USD PER PERSON

Detailed climbing itinerary:

DAY 1: RAINFOREST ZONE – MACHAME GATE.

We depart from Arusha and head towards the Machame Gate on the mountain’s southern side. This drive typically takes 1.5-2 hours.

Starting at the Machame Gate (5,718ft or 1,748m), we begin our ascent to Machame Camp (9,350ft or 2,850m).

The trek lasts approximately 5-7 hours and takes us through the Tropical Rainforest Zone. We spend the night at Machame Camp.

DAY 2: SHIRA 2 CAMP – MOORLAND/HEATHER ZONE

We start the day at Machame Camp (9,350ft or 2,850m) and leave the Rainforest Zone to reach our next campsite, Shira 2 Camp (12,621ft or 3,847m).

We’re now transitioning into the Moorland/Heather Zone.

Here, trees become less prevalent, and small plants dominate the landscape. We spend the night at Shira 2 Camp.

DAY 3: BARRANCO CAMP – ALPINE DESERT ZONE

We hike from Shira 2 Camp (12,621ft or 3,847m) to Barranco Camp (13,066ft or 3,983m). Along the way, we have a lunch break at Lava Tower.

After lunch, we start our descent to Barranco Camp. The landscape becomes increasingly barren as we enter the desert-like conditions.

Barranco Camp offers fantastic views of the Great Barranco Wall.

DAY 4: KARANGA CAMP – ALPINE DESERT ZONE

We ascend from Barranco Camp (13,066ft or 3,983m) to Karanga Camp (13,106ft or 3,994m).

To reach Karanga Camp, we need to climb the Barranco Wall with the assistance of our guides. This climb is not technical.

It takes about 4-5 hours to complete, and the rest of the day is dedicated to rest. Overnight stay at Karanga Camp.

DAY 5: BARAFU CAMP – ALPINE DESERT ZONE

We ascend from Karanga Camp (13,106ft or 3,994m) to Barafu Camp (15,239ft or 4,644m).

This hike lasts about 4-5 hours. We retire early in preparation for our midnight summit climb. Overnight stay at Barafu Camp.

DAY 6: UHURU PEAK – SUMMIT DAY – ARCTIC ZONE

We start our ascent to the summit, Uhuru Peak (19,341ft or 5,895m), from Barafu Camp (15,239ft or 4,644m).

We wake up at 11:00 PM and begin our journey around midnight. This trek usually takes around 7 hours.

We reach the summit by sunrise and celebrate our achievement atop Mt. Kilimanjaro.

We then descend via Stella Point to Mweka Camp (10,204ft or 3,110m) in the Moorland/Heather Zone. The descent should take about 6-8 hours.

DAY 7: MWEKA GATE & OFFICIAL CERTIFICATE

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we begin our descent towards Mweka Gate, located at an elevation of 5,423 feet (1,653 meters). This is where we officially sign the Kilimanjaro National Park Register, marking the successful completion of our expedition via our 7-Day Machame Route. As we reach the gate, our Head Guide will present each participant with a well-deserved Kilimanjaro Certificate, acknowledging their incredible accomplishment.

While at the gate, take a moment to savor a refreshing cold drink, allowing for a well-deserved break before continuing our journey. The descent from Mweka Gate typically takes around 3-4 hours, during which you can reflect on your remarkable journey to the summit.

Once at the gate, we board our comfortable bus, ready to transport us back to the hotel in Arusha. The drive back to the hotel takes approximately 3 hours, allowing ample time to relax and relish the memories of your Kilimanjaro expedition. With an expected mid-afternoon arrival, around 3 PM, the exact time may vary depending on your morning departure from the camp.

Luxury & Private Tanzania Safaris
Tanzania is a beautiful country of diverse landscapes ranging from imposing volcanic peaks to endless stretches of open plains to white sand beaches. From top to bottom and east to west, Tanzania offers an authentic East African safari experience: Big Five sightings, luxurious tented safari camps, and rich cultural encounters.
Home to famously large herds of migratory and resident wildlife, it’s also the setting for one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles: the Great Migration, a sight that attracts safari enthusiasts for its affirmation of life and timelessness.
In the north, beguiling icons like Mount Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti National Park headline the “Northern Circuit.” Nearby, the Rift Valley, and Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks reward with equally memorable landscapes and adventures.
At the country’s western border, in two forested pockets along Lake Tanganyika’s shore, you’ll find chimpanzees—the only place in all of Tanzania where you can trek to them.
Meanwhile, the country’s lesser-visited south is home to some truly wild tracts of remote wilderness. Step aboard a boat safari to ply the banks of the Rufiji River in Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve) or join a research-integrated safari in reclusive Ruaha National Park.
Close out a safari on the coast by digging your toes into the powdery beaches of the Zanzibar Archipelago—”spice islands” that boast long, storied trading histories.
What to Expect on a Luxury Tanzania Safari
For the most part, luxury safaris in Tanzania focus on game drives as the primary mode of wildlife viewing. Days are typically scheduled around an early morning and an afternoon drive. Sunset is observed with sundowner’s in-hand—a gin and tonic is the tradition—served in a scenic spot. Depending on your camp or lodge, a gourmet, multi-course dinner can be taken convivially with other guests, privately in your room or al fresco in the bush. After dark, you might gather round an outdoor fire, stargaze, enjoy a night game drive (depending where you are), lay out on a star bed, or simply retreat to your room to rest for the next sumptuous day on safari.
Activities like hot air ballooning (in the Serengeti), guided bush walks, community visits, research participation (and so much more) add diversity to the day. Wonderfully, Tanzania also offers a host of adventurous options for safari-goers who want to explore on foot. Walking safaris, where you’ll sleep in minimalist but well-equipped fly camps, weave through untouched pockets of the Serengeti or Ngorongoro Highlands.

Christmas holiday with Warrior Adventures Africa
A journey to the famous northern circuit in Tanzania will leave any adventurer rapt with awe at the stunning vistas, vibrant tribes and outrageous wildlife encounters. Tanzania has a trio of fantastic national parks: Tarangire National Park, with its famous herds of elephants and massive baobab trees; the Ngorongoro Crater, with an unrivalled density of wildlife; and the mighty Serengeti, staging the Great Migration for the majority of the year. For return visitors, or perhaps those looking for something a bit more off the beaten track, peer over the northern horizon and you will find a glut of ideas to create the most remarkable of journeys. Look to the south and you will find Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National Park, wild as wild can be, home to hard-core walking safaris, and with tourist numbers a mere fraction that you will find in the north. Gaze to the west and you can find Mahale National Park and Gombe National Park, famed for excellent trekking to see chimpanzees, or Katavi National Park for a totally unique safari experience that's seemingly all to yourself. Make a short hop to the coast and you can find safari and beach together at Saadani National Park: what an experience to share your private beach with a lion…from afar of course. At the end of all this, take a bit of time to rest and recover, letting it all sink in (no, you weren't dreaming). Kick off your shoes and sink your feet into the sapphire blue waters that surround Zanzibar or Pemba Island. Go on, you've earned it.
Tanzania offers some extraordinary spectacles. Truly extraordinary. Vast skies over widescreen plains, teeming mass migrations and A&K's chefs baking fresh loaves each day in the middle of the bush. Trust us, the bread - served warm from traditional ground ovens dug on our mobile tented safaris - will be the tastiest of your life. kindly check out my website for more information:

Luxury African Safaris to Tanzania

Tanzania occupies a special place in the hearts of old and new Africa hands. Its towns and cities are a little less bustling than Kenya’s, and its enchanting gamelands are fully Kenya’s equal in natural plenitude and beauty.

Warrior Adventures Africa , whether private Custom or small group Classic Safaris, almost invariably pay their respects to Tanzania’s Serengeti, the southern half of the Serengeti-Maasai Mara ecosystem, the undisputed capital of the world’s animal kingdom. The Serengeti is amazing in its enormity, its almost infinite skies and long, golden reaches, its million-year quiet. It enraptures with moments of grace; we may well see, as Elspeth Huxley did: a “loping giraffe, like a tiger lily bending with dignity before a gusty breeze.” And then there’s the fabulous, animal-thronged Lost World of the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s most magical places, where we especially (but hardly uniquely) appreciate something Isak Dinesen wrote, “The chief feature of the African landscape…was the air. Looking back on a sojourn in the African highlands, you are struck by the feeling of having lived for a time up in the air….You woke up in the morning and thought, Here I am, where I ought to be.”

In today's tour overstuffed market, it can be a tough call for travelers to decide which company to book with. Here at Warrior Adventures Africa we don't look at your trip as an opportunity to do business, but more importantly as that one rare chance you have granted us to show you the awe-inspiring beauty of our country, to turn your lifelong dreams into reality and to support those who are in need.

Your base for the next 2 nights is a luxury tented camp perched on an elevated rocky outcrop. The views across the grasslands below are sensational, particularly from the bathtub on your private deck. How fast can a cheetah run?

Cheetahs are the fastest animals in the world, reaching speeds of up to 120kph or 75mph. They are not only fast but also have amazing acceleration. Researchers found they can increase their speed by 10kph in a single stride. Like a mammalian racing car, the cheetah has stretched the standard feline body plan to the limit, and they are incredibly light on their feet. Adult males weigh 41-45kg on average, and females just 36-37kg.
