What if the real magic of safari isnโ€™t in how much you seeโ€ฆ but in how deeply you experience it?

So many safaris today feel like a race.
From park to park.
From sighting to sighting.
Always chasing โ€œmoreโ€.

But somewhere along the way, something gets lost.

Because moments like these donโ€™t happen on a schedule.

The first light breaking through ancient baobabs.
Long shadows stretching across the grass before the world fully wakes up.
A giraffe moving silently through golden haze.
An elephant appearing out of the green, close enough to feel its presence.

These are not โ€œin-betweenโ€ moments.
They are everything.

And yetโ€ฆ this is exactly when many are already on the road to the next park.

Because the magic of places like Tarangire doesnโ€™t reveal itself in a hurry.
It lives in the quiet pauses.
In staying just a little longer.
In watching, instead of moving on.

Itโ€™s in the small moments โ€” the light, the stillness, the feeling you canโ€™t plan.

Slow safari isnโ€™t about seeing less.
Itโ€™s about finally being there when it matters.

๐Ÿ“ Lake Ndutu | Safari Eyes Tours

The sun rises slowly behind the lake,
painting everything in soft shades of orange.

Flamingos fill the water โ€”
their calls echoing through the quiet morning air.

No rush. No noise.
Just the gentle start of a safari day in Ndutu.

๐Ÿ“ Ngorongoro Crater | Safari Feeling

Early morning in the crater.
A thin veil of mist hangs over the lake.

For a brief moment,
two rhinos appear in the distance.

One fades away again.

The other keeps moving โ€”
trotting calmly along the shoreline.

Powerful. Steady.
A quiet giant crossing the morning plain.

No drama. No rush.
Just the rhythm of the wild.

And as the rhino disappears from view,
the sun begins to break through,
scattering light across the water.

The lake starts to sparkle.

One of those small safari moments
that stays with you.

โžก๏ธ Todayโ€™s feeling: Calm in the wild.

Hi everyone ๐ŸŒฟ

A little place above Arushaโ€ฆ

Meru Nest is a small owner-run Bed & Breakfast in the green hills of Sekei, overlooking the city. With just four rooms, itโ€™s a quiet and intimate space โ€” a home away from the noise below.

All meals are served as a freshly prepared buffet featuring Tanzanian and Swahili specialties, inspired by everyday local cooking traditions and seasonal ingredients.

In the evenings, guests gather around the outdoor fireplace with a wide view across Arusha.
At sunrise and again at dusk, hornbills and ibis cross the sky between forest and town โ€” something we never get tired of watching.

We are close to Napuru Waterfall and Meru Forest, yet feel peacefully removed from the city.

If youโ€™re planning a visit to Arusha, feel free to have a look or send a message.

If youโ€™re planning a safari in Northern Tanzania, hereโ€™s a place that fits naturally at the beginning or the end of the journey โ€” calm, personal, and deeply local.

Meru Nest Arusha - Bed & Breakfast is a small boutique bed & breakfast located in Sekei, Arusha, set on a hillside with a beautiful view down over the town. Central, yet quiet โ€” a rare balance in Arusha.

Why it works so well around a safari
โ€ข A peaceful arrival or landing place
โ€ข Space to slow down after days of movement
โ€ข Central location without the feel of a busy city stay

At Meru Nest, the experience goes beyond sleeping well.

Guests can choose to enjoy local, home-style Tanzanian food, prepared slowly and rooted in everyday traditions rather than restaurant concepts.
There is also the option of a local bathing ritual โ€” simple, grounding, and very different from hotel wellness trends. An experience that connects body, time, and place.

Meru Nest is not a lodge and not a resort.
Itโ€™s a small, personal home that welcomes travellers who appreciate authenticity, quiet, and thoughtful details.

A place to arrive.
A place to land.
A place to feel Tanzania โ€” gently.
