The king just after a zebra meal, resting peacefully under the shade of a tree.

Lions can consume a huge amount of meat in one meal. After a successful kill, they may rest for 2–3 days before making another major hunt. When food is scarce, lions can survive more than a week, and sometimes up to two weeks, without food although prolonged hunger will gradually weaken them.

A rare and beautiful moment between a cheetah mother and her cub.

Female cheetahs raise their cubs alone, protecting and teaching them the essential skills they need to survive. She will stay with them until they are around 18 months old, when the cubs are ready to begin their journey toward independence.

Guiding a birding Safari !

Ever wondered what an ostrich eats in a day? From grasses, leaves, seeds and fruits to the occasional insect, these incredible birds are always on the move, feeding as they explore the wilderness!

And yes… those little stones they swallow are important too! They help grind their food in the gizzard since ostriches have no teeth.

A clan of hyenas sharing a meal they’ve just snatched from a cheetah. There’s always fierce competition and rough fights as feeding begins, with a strict hierarchy within the clan. And at the top of it all, the matriarch has first rights to the carcass.

The waiting game at the Mara River!

Wildebeest gather along the river cliff, searching for what they believe is a safe place to cross. But crossing the Mara is never an easy decision.

They may approach the edge, hesitate, turn back, and try again. Sometimes they spot crocodiles in the water, encounter hippos, or simply sense that the conditions aren’t right.

You can wait for hours watching a herd gather, only for them to suddenly change their minds.

That’s why witnessing a wildebeest river crossing is truly a game of patience, timing… and a little bit of luck.

Would you be patient and wait for the Crossing ? Comment below

A leopard can sleep or rest for around 12–18 hours a day, especially after a successful hunt. They are mainly nocturnal and crepuscular, so they tend to be most active during the cooler hours of the evening, night, and early morning.

You’ll often find them lounging in trees, where they can safely rest away from competitors such as lions and hyenas while keeping an eye on their surroundings.

Ever wondered when is the best time to go on safari in Tanzania ?

The truth is, Tanzania is a year-round safari destination, but the best time depends on what you want to experience.

➡️June – October: The dry season excellent wildlife viewing, clear skies, and one of the best periods for the Great Wildebeest Migration, especially the dramatic river crossings around July–September.

➡️November – December: Short rains bring fresh green landscapes, fewer crowds, and beautiful photography conditions.

➡️January – March: Calving season in the southern Serengeti/Ndutu thousands of wildebeest give birth, attracting predators and creating incredible wildlife encounters.

➡️ April – May: The long rains. This is generally the quieter and greener season, with fewer visitors and potentially better rates, although some safari logistics can be affected by heavy rain.

So, when would you choose ?

❇️ Migration & river crossings → July–September
❇️ Calving & predators → January–March
❇️ Green landscapes & fewer crowds → November–May

A beautiful serval cat moves quietly between a herd of Thomson’s gazelles, while the gazelles watch this small predator carefully.

Don’t let its size fool you the serval is an incredibly skilled hunter, capable of taking down prey surprisingly large for its own size.

Its diet includes rodents, rabbits, small antelopes such as dik-dik, birds, reptiles, and occasionally young or small gazelles.

One of the most fascinating things about the African wilderness is that even the smaller predators have an important place in the ecosystem.

Would you be lucky enough to spot a serval on your next safari ?

This was one of nature’s surprises during today’s game drive!

This elephant has a shortened trunk, which can result from a birth abnormality or an injury. Despite this unusual condition, it has adapted to its environment and continues to live alongside its herd.

Nature never stops surprising us every safari tells a different story. ❤️🐘
