Happy New Year! Great news to start off the year with

China, one of the world's biggest markets for African ivory, has banned all trade in ivory and ivory products; the country announced the ban last year but it came into effect on Sunday, the last day of 2017. 67 official factories and shops dealing in ivory had already been closed by March 2017 and the remaining 105 were to have shut down yesterday according to Xinhua
