“This was not a typical sanitised group tour, it was a real experience. Just my daughter and I with the boys from CCW. We visited a real family in the village of Makunduchi, stopped to buy food which we helped the family to cook, spent almost a full day with them playing with all the children, exploring the village and sharing food and stories. Recap of Samantha’s 3-Week Island Adventure — Part 2 🌴✨

From ocean adventures to giving back to the community, Samantha’s final days on the island were filled with unforgettable experiences. 💙

Our private full-day dhow trip to Mnemba Island took Samantha into the crystal-clear waters to snorkel amongst Zanzibar’s vibrant marine life, followed by freshly cooked seafood prepared by our private chefs. 🐠🦐 she relaxed on the sandbank, swam in the turquoise waters and sailed back as the sun began to set. 🌅⛵️

The following day was all about Safari Blue — exploring Kwale Island, relaxing on the beach, snorkelling, visiting the sandbank and discovering the incredible ancient baobab tree. 🌴🏝️

Then came another unforgettable Mnemba experience, this time at sunrise. 🌅 We set off early, arriving before the crowds to experience the island in complete tranquillity. Swimming in the crystal-clear waters as the sun rose and snorkelling amongst the vibrant marine life made for a truly magical start to the day. 🐠💙

And to finish her three-week stay, Samantha chose to give back. ❤️ We visited a local village where she donated essential washing detergent, school supplies and food to support families and children within the community.

A Little Piece of Zanzibar 🌊🧽

You never know what you might discover along the shores of Zanzibar…

This beautiful natural sea sponge was found washed ashore and clearly detached, so I gave it a gentle wash in the ocean to remove the darker sand and natural debris that had collected inside its tiny holes.

Sponges are fascinating marine animals that help filter seawater and play an important role in our underwater ecosystem. 🌊🐚

🐚 A little reminder: Please never remove a sponge from the sea, reef or rocks. Only pick one up if it is already washed ashore and clearly detached, and please do not take it home or remove it from the beach. Admire it, photograph it and leave it where nature placed it. 💙

It’s just another beautiful reminder that Zanzibar is so much more than its white sandy beaches — there is an incredible world beneath the surface waiting to be discovered.

Some days stay with you forever. 🤍🇹🇿

Our day in Makunduchi with Ann and Sophie was one of those days.

What started as a visit became something so much more. The children and families welcomed them with open arms, and before long there was singing, dancing, playing, learning, cooking and sharing food together — with laughter and smiles filling every moment.

But it wasn’t just about what Ann and Sophie brought with them. It was about the time they gave, the conversations they shared, the hands they held and the memories they created together.

Ann and Sophie also kindly brought essential school supplies for the children, something that will make a real difference and be cherished long after their visit. 🎒📚❤️

Watching the children’s faces light up, hearing their laughter and seeing the genuine connection between everyone was incredibly special.

Thank you, Ann and Sophie, for giving your time, your kindness and your hearts. You may have left the village, but you certainly left a little piece of happiness behind. 🤍

PART 2 — 3 WEEKS IN ZANZIBAR 🌴🤍

And the adventure continued…

From a private traditional dhow sailing to Mnemba, watching the sun melt into the horizon as we sailed back, to discovering the beauty of Kwale Island — its stunning sandbank, crystal-clear waters, swimming, snorkelling and sailing through the mangroves to the ancient baobab tree. 🌅🌊

Then came a sunrise trip to Mnemba — no crowds, just Samantha, the ocean and endless snorkelling. 🐠 With dolphins passing by the boat, it was one of those Zanzibar moments you never forget.

But perhaps one of the most special moments was visiting a local village, where Samantha kindly donated essentials including school equipment, washing detergents and food. A beautiful way to give back to the island and the communities that make Zanzibar so special. 🤍

Three weeks filled with adventure, connection, culture, ocean days and memories that will last a lifetime.
