Kori Bustard has such a hefty weight because of their generalized feeding behaviour. Being omnivores, they forage on vegetation and meat. Their source of protein include lizards, insects and snakes.
It's obvious that when you weighs more, you can't spend much in flying..that's why the Kori Bustard don't fly for long and will land soon after taking flight.
Their homes include wide open grassland and lightly wooded savanna.
