When is the best time to climb Mt Kilimanjaro?

If you are interested in trekking Kilimanjaro in the best weather, the ideal times to hike are December/January/February and Mid-May, June through October. If your primary goal is to summit when it is less populated, you can choose a more remote path, or opt to summit during a less popular season. Mt. Kilimanjaro can be trekked all year-round, but some weather conditions can be very challenging, even dangerous, so it’s important to know what you are getting into.

With seven different routes to take and a variety of lengths of treks, it’s good to know what your ultimate goal is and choose a hike most likely to meet that goal. Choose your trek here: https://www.inquisitivesafari.com/tour-category/climbing-mt-kilimanjaro/

Gorilla Safaris in Uganda & Rwanda

Gorilla Trekking is possible year-round in Uganda & Rwanda, but timing does shape the experience. Dry seasons offer easier walking conditions, while greener months bring fewer crowds and a quieter forest.

Best time for Gorilla trekking
December – February: A shorter dry season with good visibility and comfortable trekking conditions. Ideal if you are pairing gorillas with a broader safari.

March – May: Lusher forest and fewer visitors: Trails can be muddy, but permit availability is higher.

June – September: The longest dry season. Excellent trekking conditions and clear forest trails. This is peak season, so permits and lodges book early.

October – November: Light rains, fewer trekkers and rewarding gorilla encounters. A favorite for those seeking a calmer experience.

Wild Dogs (Lycaon pictus) also called painted dog in the Endless plains of the Serengeti – Tanzania.

After the Ethiopian Wolf, the African Wild Dog is officially the second-rarest carnivore in Africa. Fewer that 6,600 individuals remain, with only an estimated 600 to 1000 breeding pairs left in the wild.

With such vast home ranges and low population numbers, seeing wild dogs in their natural habitat is always something special. Understanding their social structure, often described as almost democratic, adds an entirely new level of appreciation for these remarkable animals.

Your trip of a lifetime awaits.
