Today is International Women's Day so let's talk about some of the impressive ladies from the Bush, female Elephants.

Did you know that the female leader of an elephant herd is called the matriarch and that the herd primarily consists of females?

The matriarch is typically the oldest and most experienced female in the group, and she plays a crucial role in decision-making and guiding the herd.

The majority of a herd consists of females because they hold the dominant positions in their social structure. This is partly due to the fact that female elephants have stronger social bonds and cooperate more closely in raising offspring, while male elephants tend to roam more independently and leave the herd once they reach sexual maturity between the ages of 12 to 15.

This separation is essential for preventing inbreeding and promoting genetic diversity among different elephant populations.

🌟🌟🌟"With Genes Adventures we had fantastic days: we visited national parks (Tarangire and Ngorongoro) where we saw plenty of beautiful animals. Lunch was prepared with love, table and chairs included (beware of the monkeys!) Our crush was definitively the Ngorongoro crater. The first glance was just breathtaking; did we land in paradise? We had luck to see four rhinos, which are normally very hard to see. Asante Genes for the trip!"🌟🌟🌟

🐘 🐘 𝐓𝐖𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐈 = 𝐋𝐄𝐓'𝐒 𝐆𝐎 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐔𝐒𝐇! 🐘🐘

Early this morning Christian, Cedrik, Robin and Janina from Switzerland left Ilboru Safari Lodge in Arusha and they are going on a 3-day Safari. Hosted by our Genes Adventures' professionals Silva (driver/guide) and Genes (founder).

Today they are visiting 𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐈𝐑𝐄 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊 which is famous for its iconic 𝐁𝐀𝐎𝐁𝐀𝐁 𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐒 (=𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐲𝐮) but also home to big herds of 𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐏𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐒.

Wishing them a 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐀𝐑𝐈 𝐍𝐉𝐄𝐌𝐀= A Nice Trip!

YESS! Yesterday at 14.25 our Swiss group 🇨🇭 made it to UHURU peak at 5895 mtrs. Congratulations to all. They have now left Base Camp (Barafu) and heading towards Mweka Camp and tomorrow the will be back in Moshi Town. What a wonderful achievement.

Pole pole ( = slowely slowely), at Genes Adventures safety comes first.

Our Swiss group 🇨🇭 has just reached Barafu Camp at 4647 mtrs where they will get ready to summit. Tomorrow morning they will wake up as early as 4 am and start walking at 5 am. Wishing them all best of luck 🍀
