This is what is happening there today.

And I can almost hear the question already spreading across the Russian information space:

“Why us?”

After almost five years of full-scale war, this question remains one of the most baffling things about this war to me.

I live in Kyiv. I don’t read about this war in the news feed — I live through it.

So when I see Russians outraged by Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory, I want to ask just one question:

Where have you been all these years?

Where are you now, when missiles and drones are hitting Ukrainian cities every single day?

When people are once again sleeping in corridors and shelters?

When apartment buildings, energy infrastructure, railway stations and businesses are being hit?

When Ukrainian cities live every day with the knowledge that the next explosion could happen in your own home?

This is happening right now. Every single day.

And this is not 1940, when information could be completely sealed off by state censorship.

This is the 21st century.

A Russian person has a smartphone in their pocket with access to the entire world. YouTube, Telegram, foreign media, eyewitness videos, satellite imagery, thousands of documentary reports.

And still — “We don’t know why.”

Perhaps this is the most frightening result of propaganda.

Not when people are forced to believe one particular lie.

But when they are trained for so long not to ask obvious questions that even a war their own country is waging in another country becomes something they perceive as simply… normal.

And then, one day, the war reaches Sofino, Moscow Region.

And suddenly:

“Why us?”

Because war has a way of returning to the place from which it was brought.

This is not “the war coming to Russia.”

This is the war reaching Russia after Russia brought war to Ukraine

🇺🇸 The Lindsey Graham Act is not really about the much-hyped “500% tariffs”. The real impact goes deeper.
The law strengthens the sanctions mechanism against Russia and requires regular review of the restrictions.

The targets include major Russian banks, the energy sector, new investments in Russian energy projects and the so-called shadow fleet.
For countries that continue buying Russian oil and gas, tariffs of up to 100% may be imposed.

But there is another side to this story.

🇺🇦 Ukraine has its own sanctions.

In Operation “Vivaldi”, Ukraine’s 3rd Army Corps has been striking Russian logistics — with strikes reaching up to 120 km behind the front line, according to the Corps.

While the world is slowly tightening the economic pressure on Russia, Ukraine is striking the very infrastructure that keeps its war machine running.

The world is slow.

Justice demanded stopping Russia’s war machine by the whole world from the very beginning of the full-scale invasion.

But this is where we are.

📍 Kyiv. Today.
These are the images we wake up to after another night of Russian attacks.

This is what we and our children see when we leave the shelter in the morning.
For people living far from Ukraine, it may be hard to understand how the world looks from here.

It is hard to understand a world that continues to tolerate Russia’s crimes against humanity.

It is hard to watch politicians sit down with war criminal putin, shake his hand and smile for the cameras.

For us, this is not geopolitics.
This is our morning.
Our children.
Our reality.

🕯️ And perhaps this is why it is so important to see Ukraine with your own eyes — not through headlines, not through social media, but here.

🌅 Sunset in Kyiv today.

When I visited Warsaw after three years of russia’s full-scale invasion, I found myself flinching at the sound of civilian airplanes. Ordinary passenger planes flying peacefully over the city.

My friend, who lives in the suburbs of Kyiv, can now tell by the sound when Shahed drones are coming in toward the capital.

Maybe it is in moments like these that you understand most clearly how much ordinary life russia has taken from us.

Not only buildings. Not only cities. Not only years.

It has taken years from this country that were supposed to simply be life. Mornings without air-raid sirens. Travel. Birthdays. Education. Ordinary evenings.

And the most terrible thing — the people who will never see a Kyiv sunset again.

The video shows Sochi, russia.
Sochi is russia’s main Black Sea resort — a symbol of comfort, leisure and the relatively carefree life enjoyed by russia’s elite and middle class.

Today, there are explosions and fires.

And this matters not only because Ukraine’s Defence Forces can reach targets far from the battlefield.

For more than a week, russia has been relentlessly attacking Kyiv and the Kyiv region.

🇺🇦Ukraine is responding not only on the battlefield.

Ukraine is increasingly targeting russian oil infrastructure, logistics and other assets that form part of the economic foundation of the russian state.

Because the russian economy is not just missiles, drones and tanks.

It is salaries.
Taxes.
Exports.
Fuel.
State revenues.
And the everyday, comfortable life of russian society.

The harder the war hits russia’s economy, the more expensive the war becomes — not just for an abstract state, but for ordinary Russians.

Less money.
Higher costs.
Less stability.
More discontent.

And that is why attacks on the russian economy matter far beyond military calculations.

The goal is to deprive russia of resources to wage war — while making the cost of that war increasingly visible to a society that has spent years living as if the war were happening somewhere far away.

Economic pressure → declining living standards → growing discontent → political instability.

This does not mean that an economic crisis will automatically bring down Putin’s regime.

But the fewer resources the system has, the harder it becomes to buy stability and sustain the war.

russia brought the war to Ukrainian cities.

Now Ukraine is making sure that the cost of that war is increasingly felt inside russia itself.

🇺🇦 16 targets in Russia in one day.
That is the number of targets Ukrainian forces struck over the past 24 hours, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
And this is not just a number.

Long-range strikes hit oil facilities — Russia’s “oil wallet” that helps finance its war.
✈️ Airfields used to launch attacks against Ukraine.
🚀 A missile unit.

🏭 A military-industrial facility.

🚛 Russian logistics.

And infrastructure that Russia continuously uses to strike Ukrainian cities.

Ukraine did not start this war.

But Ukraine is making sure that the cost of Russian aggression keeps rising.

The war must return to where it came from.

Not for revenge.
But to reduce Russia’s ability to kill Ukrainians and destroy Ukrainian cities.

🇺🇦 WITNESS UKRAINE — THE EXPEDITION OF TRUTH

In this video is Konstantin Gudauskas, co-founder of Witness Ukraine.

But above all, he is a man who risked his life every day in 2022 to save others. ❤️‍🩹

He evacuated people from Bucha and other parts of the Kyiv region occupied by Russian forces — people who could have been executed or tortured by the occupiers.

📱 Hiding his phone, Konstantin took photographs that were needed by Ukrainian intelligence. He passed Russian checkpoints knowing that at any moment he could be killed.

💥 After a car explosion, he suffered a concussion.

🙏 Konstantin survived — almost miraculously. And he saved more than 200 people.

🎬 His story became the basis for the feature film “Bucha,” which was screened in the US Congress during discussions on continued support for Ukraine.

Today, Kostya continues to volunteer. 🇺🇦

Almost every week, he travels with Ukrainian soldiers to where they serve, bringing them the supplies they need.

And this is exactly why, for us, the Expedition of Truth is not simply a tourism project. It is a mission.

🇺🇦 Here in Ukraine, whenever we do something — work, build a business, launch a new project — we often ask ourselves one question:

How can this be useful not only to us, but above all to Ukraine and our victory?
