🌿 What Do Gorillas Eat in the Wild? 🦍
Despite their impressive size and incredible strength, gorillas are mostly plant-eaters. Their daily menu comes straight from the forest: fresh leaves, tender shoots, stems, roots, bark, and seasonal fruits.
An adult gorilla can spend many hours a day feeding and may consume around 18–30 kg (40–66 lb) of vegetation daily, depending on its size, habitat, and food availability.
Mountain gorillas rely heavily on leaves, shoots, stems, and other herbaceous plants, while lowland gorillas generally have greater access to fruit. They may also occasionally eat ants, termites, and other small invertebrates.
The forest is their table, their shelter, and their home. Every branch and leaf is part of a delicate natural system that has sustained these remarkable animals for generations. 🌿🦍
