A heavy cloud of sorrow hangs over Northern Uganda today as we mourn the passing of Lacambel Wod’Ogena.

He was so much more than a radio presenter—he was a peacekeeper, a storyteller, and a source of profound comfort to many during their darkest hours.

After a brave battle with illness, Lacambel left us on Sunday.

He leaves behind an incredible legacy, most notably for his bravery on the program ‘Dwog cen Paco’, where he spoke directly to Joseph Kony to guide LRA rebels safely back home.

May the Lord gently receive his soul and grant him the eternal peace he so selflessly worked to give others. Amen.

BREAKING NEWS: Governor Lobong Briefs CDF on Security Challenges as Gen. Santino Deng Wol Visits Eastern Equatoria

TORIT, 30 May 2026 — The Governor of Eastern Equatoria State, H.E. Louis Lobong Lojore, has briefed the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen. Santino Deng Wol, on the prevailing security situation in the state during the CDF's official visit to Torit.

During a high-level meeting, Governor Lobong reported that Eastern Equatoria remains generally calm and stable despite persistent security threats, crediting the state's community policing strategy and the active participation of local communities in maintaining peace and law and order.

The Governor emphasized that the State Government continues to commit its limited resources to sustaining security and stability to ensure that citizens live peacefully and are not forced to flee across international borders in search of safety.

However, Governor Lobong raised serious concerns over recurring incidents of child abduction and cattle raiding allegedly carried out by Murle armed groups. He stated that some of the perpetrators use areas occupied by SPLM/A-IO forces as safe havens from which to launch attacks and abduct children.

The Governor further alleged that some elements associated with the National Salvation Front (NAS) occasionally move from neighbouring Central Equatoria State and collaborate with SPLM/A-IO elements to destabilize parts of Eastern Equatoria.

On cross-border security, Governor Lobong highlighted ongoing efforts by the State Government to work closely with border communities and neighbouring countries to promote peaceful coexistence, trade, and security cooperation. He revealed that joint border security committees have been established to strengthen community-level peacebuilding and address emerging security concerns.

ATTENTION as SPLA/M formation 16th May anniversary is drawing nearer, this day is known to many of us as a day of another great chapter of continue Liberation struggle of Sudan after the failure between 1963 to 1972_1983.
But above is not the main concern of this article
The overall historical ideology behind our Sudan people liberation movement much be place into it right ideological position of the overall Sudan people Liberation foundation by accepting the truth of our national foundation.

The fact remain the word Anyanya is not Madi word as political misplaced by Joseph Lagu, the word Anyanya is an Acholi word derived from an Acholi word nyany_ meaning "intentional", nyany mean Intention.

What had been known as Anyanya slogan was Sudan people Liberal ideology since the beginning at the Torit mutiny 1955.
The truth then liberal leader with the slogan Anyanya is call Saturnino Obwoya_ wrongly written in history book of Sudan Southern Uprised as Saturnino Oboya and Joseph Lagu is a junior to ladit Saturnino Obwoya.

When it came to Sudan people independency foundation Joseph Lagu greedily and cowardly sold out the Liberation dream what we call anyanya movement between 1955_1972 after he was trusted by then power.
Saturnino Obwoya commonly known as Olire Lanyok is the initiator of Torit mutiny what became as then popular movement known to many today as Anyanya 1.

Joseph Lagu claimed the truth of Sudan people liberation foundation in the book of our independence after the CPA_ 2005 without recognizing Oboya efforts.
That is why the reconciliation of the both two Sudan and South Sudan failed even after the separation because the truth of this foundation were kept hidden by the overall traitors of our SPLM, now they are blaming it to the current junior comrades in the leadership like our president after all the years of continue struggle from 1983 to 2005 till today.

Regards;
One of the grandsons of Saturnino Obwoya Olire Lanyok, a Sudan liberal leader 1955.

The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) and South Sudan’s Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening political collaboration, regional integration and socio-economic transformation between the two sister parties.

The agreement was formalised during a meeting between senior leaders of the two parties at the NRM headquarters in Kampala, where officials described the partnership as a continuation of the historical ties between Uganda and South Sudan.

Speaking during the engagement, NRM Secretary General Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong said the relationship between the two countries goes beyond diplomacy and is deeply rooted in shared history, blood ties, and liberation struggles.
