DID YOU KNOWAdult male Mountain Gorillas can eat up to 34kgs of vegetation per day where as adult females can eat up to 18kgs per day. These gentle primates rarely drink water. They substitute water intake with the juices that they get from the very succulent foliage they feed on. The dew that rests on the foliage also relinquishes their need for drinking water. A game drive through the Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park offers breathtaking sightings of different mammal species as they are known for providing the greatest chances of seeing lions.

The Kasenyi plains are positioned in an area adjacent to Lake George which gives stunning views of the lake while on a game drive. The plains alos give a great opportunity photography as on a lucky day you can see lions feasting on their prey. Spotted hyenas can trot at 6 miles (10 kilometers) per hour without getting tired for long distances. They can run up to 30 miles (50 kilometers) per hour and are good swimmers. Their rounded ears help distinguish it from the striped and brown hyenas.
