Uganda is often called Africa's "fruit basket" due to its exceptional variety, abundant fresh produce year-round from fertile soils, and high production of bananas, with over 80 species grown, offering a rich diversity alongside other tropical fruits like jackfruit, pineapples, mangoes, papayas, avocados and many others fruits like passion fruits, guavas, watermelons, pawpaws, oranges, etc

While fruits grow across Uganda, Specific districts are famous for specific types of fruits.
I.E.,
1. Luwero is famous for pineapples, Kasese/2. Rwenzori slopes, and Masaka are major passion fruit hubs.
3. Kabale, Mpigi, and Wakiso are significant for cape gooseberries.

With general fruit abundance in fertile areas like Karamoja, though commercial farming centers around Jinja/Buikwe for sugarcane and tea, not necessarily diverse fruits
