Key Information About QENP Lions:

Tree-Climbing Behavior: While lions are typically ground-dwelling, the Ishasha lions frequently climb trees, offering a rare spectacle.

Best Time to Visit: The best time to see them is during the dry seasons: June to September and December to February.

Location:

The Ishasha sector is located in the southern part of the park, near the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Other Areas: Besides Ishasha, lions can be found in the Kasenyi plains (northern sector), where dedicated lion tracking experiences are available.

Conservation Status: The lion population is monitored due to threats from human-wildlife conflict and snares

Gorilla trekking in Uganda is one of Africa’s most unforgettable wildlife adventures. It gives travelers the rare opportunity to come face-to-face with endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, mainly in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

The experience starts early in the morning with a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Visitors are grouped according to fitness level and assigned a habituated gorilla family to track. The trek can take anywhere from 1 to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas spent the previous night.
