Day 17: Up Close With the Wild – Morning Walk & Game Drive in Lake Mburo

We traded wheels for walking boots this morning and stepped right into nature’s classroom! A guided nature walk through Lake Mburo National Park gave us a rare, intimate glimpse into the wild—tracking footprints, learning about medicinal plants, and spotting wildlife without the hum of an engine.
After stretching our legs, we hopped into our safari vehicles for a scenic game drive, catching sight of giraffes, zebras, elands, impalas, buffaloes, and so much more as the sun painted golden hues across the savannah.
Lake Mburo always delivers the quiet thrill of discovery. One moment you’re learning from animal tracks, the next you’re locking eyes with a curious warthog or watching elands gracefully move through the bush.

Day 15: Serenity at Lake Bunyonyi The Place of Many Little Birds

Surrounded by lush green hills, misty mornings, and the peaceful ripples of Africa’s second deepest lake, Lake Bunyonyi is truly a sight to behold!

Scattered across its crystal-clear waters are 29 breathtaking islands, each with a story to tell:
🏝️ Punishment Island – Once a place of exile for unmarried pregnant girls, now a reminder of cultural history.
🏝️ Bushara Island – A haven for birdwatchers and nature lovers, where the calls of Kingfishers and Sunbirds fill the air.
🏝️ Bwama Island – Once home to a leprosy treatment center, now an island of healing and history.

With no hippos or crocodiles, the lake is perfect for canoeing, swimming, and simply soaking in the tranquility. Every sunrise here feels like a painting, and every sunset whispers a new adventure.

Morning Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel!

This morning, we traded wheels for water and set off on a scenic boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel,one of the best ways to experience Queen Elizabeth National Park’s incredible wildlife up close!
From hippos grunting and splashing just meters away to massive Nile crocodiles sunbathing on the shores, the channel was alive with activity. Elephants wandered down for a drink, and the air was filled with the calls of countless bird species. A true paradise for wildlife lovers!
