The cause of yellowing of leaves is poor nutrition ( lack of nitrogen) and for maximum results, cow dung or goat manure are the best remedy because for these two types of manure they stay for a long period of time in the soil ( 1 year+ is the soil is not too sandy ) .
If one can't afford the said manure, one can use naked lady , banana stems and other greeny plant materials like wondering jew ( enanda in Luganda or eteija in Runyankore ) , Tithonia plant locally known as Kumanyoko in Isingiro South . You dig a trench around the upper part of the area around a banana plant and burry them to rot immediately .
