Uganda, known as the “Pearl of Africa,” boasts some of the richest biodiversity on the continent. From the majestic mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to the sprawling savannahs of Queen Elizabeth National Park, the country is a wildlife enthusiast’s paradise.
However, there are several lesser-known gems, such as Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve, Katonga Wildlife Reserve, and the Budongo and Maramagambo Forest Reserves, that are currently under consideration for upgrade to national park status.
