We need people on Monday! We WILL be doing the installation of the Feather Friendly bird ”dots” after a short orientation. Liberty Bird Alliance will have experienced people on hand to help folks with no prior experience. Please register to help!

We need your help! Volunteer for the Feather Friendly Retrofit Project at the Elkins Park Free Library!

During the 3-day volunteer event, we will install Feather Friendly "dots" to prevent bird collisions with glass. The first day is an orientation - not required but recommended. The remaining two days feature four installation times - choose any or all to help with the project!

Orientation: May 11 from 10 AM to 2 PM

Sessions:
May 12: 10 AM to 12 PM
May 12: 12 to 2 PM
May 13: 10 AM to 12 PM
May 13: 12 to 2 PM

This was the third and final volunteer day for our Bird Safe Philly window retrofit project at Glenside Free Library. All of the lower windows have been treated! We once again welcome the support of Nolan Painting to do the Feather Friendly Installation on the high windows later this month.

The Glenside Free Library qualified as a Bird Friendly Habitat today. Phil Witmer, Vice President of Bird Town Pennsylvania presented the sign to Librarian, Hannah Miller. The presentation was made during a break in our Bird Safe Philly retrofit work. Chris and Wendy, two of our retrofit volunteers, joined us for the presentation!

Presented a Bird Friendly Habitat sign to Chris in Abington. He has undertaken major landscaping work in his yard to establish a native pollinator garden in his front yard. His water feature attracts migratory warblers from the tree tops to the water. Congratulations Chris!

We made a good start at Glenside Free Library on Saturday and look to 10:00 AM Monday for the next scheduled day of our project.
