The Mount Gay Distillery in St. Lucy Parish has been distilling rum on the same site since 1703. Not aging it, not bottling it elsewhere and calling it Barbadian. Distilling it, there, for over three hundred years, making it the oldest commercially operating rum distillery in the world.

Barbadian distillers did not just make rum. They invented how the world makes it: copper pot stills, limestone-filtered spring water, oak barrel aging.

There are an estimated 1,500 rum shops across an island this size. For Bajans, the rum shop is more central to daily life than any restaurant or bar.

Ten sisters are learning this in person this week.

There’s something about seeing the world with people who get it.

One minute you’re meeting at the airport.
Next thing you know, you’re laughing over dinner in another country like you’ve known each other forever.

Different passport.
Different city.
Same energy.

2027 is already calling.

Seychelles • Peru • Zanzibar • Aruba • South Africa + Zimbabwe • St. Lucia

Comment your destination for details.

Ten sisters landed in Barbados this afternoon. Bags dropped, sandals on, feet in the sand before check-in paperwork was even finished.

Tonight: Opening Circle. Same question every BBG departure starts with. The answers are never the same twice.

Follow along in stories all week. Gem Sistas, September 3 to 7.

Three trips on the calendar means three more places to explore, stories to collect, and memories to bring home.

The practical details can catch up later. 😂

Sisters, which destination would you add to the BBG calendar?

09/03/2026

Some books change the way you think.

Others change the way you see the world.

For us, the passport has done both.

Every stamp means somewhere we had never been before.
A new street to walk.
A new table to sit at.
A new culture to learn from.
A new story to bring home.

Travel has a way of expanding the world beyond what you already know.

And sometimes, the most important pages aren’t the ones you read. They’re the ones you live.

So yes, if you ask us what book changed our lives…

Our passport. ✈️🌍

Sisters, what destination changed the way you saw the world?

A reminder to leave room in the itinerary for the places you find between the places you planned to visit.

That’s where the extra 30K steps usually come from. 😂

Save this for your next trip.

A bad day in Aruba is still better than a good day anywhere else.

There’s something about an island where the sea is always close, the landscape shifts from white-sand beaches to desert terrain, and even the language tells a story.

Aruba’s official languages are Dutch and Papiamento, a Creole language shaped by African, Portuguese, Dutch, Spanish, and other influences. Even “dushi” carries meaning here, commonly used to describe something sweet, lovely, or dear.

So when we call this trip Dushi Sistas, we’re not just giving it a name.

We’re taking that island energy with us.

Aruba | September 2–6, 2027

May all the work you’re putting in lead you somewhere beautiful.

To the boarding passes you haven’t booked yet.
The sunsets you haven’t seen.
The places you haven’t explored.
The friendships you haven’t made yet.
And the stories you haven’t even lived yet.

Keep going.

One day, you’ll look back and realize all those long days were helping you build a life worth remembering.

Here’s to more stamps, more stories, and more moments that make it all worth it. 🤍

Some girls trips are too good to rush home from.

And after four years of End of Summer Shenanigans, I already know one thing: Nobody is ever ready for it to end.

So for our fifth annual Shenanigans, I'm giving five sisters a little more time.

Your 5th night is on me.

Dushi Sistas: Aruba 2027 is normally five days and four nights.

But for the first five sisters who book during this special, you get:

Six days. Five nights.

One more Aruba sunset.

One more dinner by the water.

One more morning with nowhere you need to rush to.

Here's how it works:

Reserve with your deposit → your fifth night is on us.

Claim one of the five spots AND pay in full → I'll also add the BBG Welcome Sistas Arrival Experience + Seascapes Package at Renaissance Island.

Irie Sistas was Jamaica.
Piton Sistas was St. Lucia.
Wadadli Sistas was Antigua.
Gem Sistas is Barbados.
Dushi Sistas is Aruba.

Stay a little longer, sis. You deserve it.

Drop 🇦🇼 or DM DUSHI for more details.

Which sister are you tagging to claim one of these five spots?
