“This guy's name is Tay, he goes to Greenwood high school. Yesterday when I walked into the gym to get ready for lunch Tay asked me what size shoe I wear and I said '9, why?' and he said 'alright tomorrow I want you to show up at this exact spot, ok' and I said 'alright man.'
Today when I went into the gym there was a small crowd of students around Tay who had a footlocker bag, when he saw me come in he pulled out a Jordan shoe box and he opened it and it had retro 1 jordans, and then he handed them to me saying 'here you go man these are yours', at first I didn't know what he was talking about, but then he told his friends to put my book bag somewhere, while he laced my shoes, when they were on I asked him 'I don't understand why are you giving me these', when he said 'I heard people have been bullying you, so I wanted to get you these to make you feel better', and when he said that I hugged him and I almost cried, and I cannot thank him enough, and then he said 'and if anybody is bullying you, you let me know alright", and I said 'thank you so much.'

I would like to take the time to introduce everyone to miss Parham. she is a 2 month old beautiful baby girl. last night I was dispatched to a residence to a child choking, it was this beautiful little princess. she was turning blue and fading fast.. mom and dad tried cpr with no luck and when I arrived she was not breathing. the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY touched me and I knew what to do. I did reverse cpr and was able to suck the cereal out of her throat and she began breathing again. she smiled at me for a second and then starting crying which was music to my ears. out of my 25 years being a cop this is my greatest and most profound accomplishment and it made every second of those 25 years worth it all. I am forever humbled and changed by this. little miss Parham will forever be a part of my life...

“Well,” said the Queen to the little bear, “where do you go from here?”
“I’m not sure, Your Majesty,” Paddington Bear answered softly, a tear in his eye. “You see, the Browns have all grown up and gone their separate ways. I’m now homeless, as I have nowhere else to stay.”
The Queen’s face softened with a smile. “Well, my little friend, this simply won’t do at all. I too am all alone. Why don’t you move into my palace? I’m sure we’ll have a ball!”
Paddington’s eyes widened as he asked, “Will there be marmalade, dear Queen?”
“Of course,” she replied with a wink. “The biggest spread of sandwiches you’ve ever seen. And cups of tea, with crockery you can drop—and I will never, ever mind.”
With a grateful heart, the little bear smiled. “Your Majesty, I accept your offer. You are very, very kind.”

This photo of a stray dog has touched thousands of people...
In Marseille, a bus driver did what many wouldn't dare: he let this dog board, alone, drenched in the rain, without asking for anything in return.

Throughout the journey, the dog remained calm, silently watching the world scroll by behind the window. Then, upon reaching "his" station, he descended as if he knew the way.

The driver didn't chase him. He simply offered her shelter, a moment of respite on a cold day.

I don't know this man but I want to thank him. For his goodness sake. For her heart. Because sometimes, true humanity doesn’t make noise — it acts.

My mom did not sleep. She felt exhausted. She was irritable, grumpy, and bitter. She was always sick until one day, suddenly, she changed.

One day my dad said to her:

- I've been looking for a job for three months and I haven't found anything, I'm going to have a few beers with friends.

My mom replied:

- It's okay.

My brother said to her:

- Mom, I'm doing poorly in all subjects at the University.

My mom replied:

- Okay, you will recover, and if you don't, well, you repeat the semester, but you pay the tuition.

My sister said to her:

- Mom, I smashed the car.

My mom replied:

- Okay daughter, take it to the car shop & find out how to pay and while they fix it, get around by bus or subway.

Her daughter-in-law said to her:

- Mother-in-law, I came to spend a few months with you.

My mom replied:

- Okay, settle in the living room couch and look for some blankets in the closet.

All of us gathered worried to see these reactions coming from Mom.

We suspected that she had gone to the doctor and that she was prescribed some pills called "I don't give a damn”... Perhaps she was overdosing on these!

We then proposed to do an "intervention" with w/my mother to remove her from any possible addiction she had to some anti-tantrum medication.

But then ... she gathered us around her and my mom explained:

"It took me a long time to realize that each person is responsible for their life. It took me years to discover that my anguish, anxiety, depression, courage, insomnia & my stress, do not solve your problems but aggravate mine.

I am not responsible for the actions of anyone & it’s not my job to provide happiness but I am responsible for the reactions I express to that.

Therefore, I came to the conclusion that my duty to myself is to remain calm and let each one of you solve what corresponds to you.

I have taken courses in yoga, meditation, miracles, human development, mental hygiene, vibration, and neurolinguistic programming, and in all of them, I found a common denominator in them all...

I can only control myself, you have all the necessary resources to solve your own problems despite how hard they may be. My job is to pray for you, love on you, and encourage you but it’s up to YOU to solve them & find your happiness.

I can only give you my advice if you ask me & it depends on you to follow it or not. There are consequences, good or bad, to your decisions and YOU have to live them.

So from now on, I cease to be the receptacle of your responsibilities, the sack of your guilt, the laundress of your remorse, the advocate of your faults, the wall of your lamentations, the depositary of your duties, who should solve your problems or spare a tire every time to fulfill your responsibilities.

From now on, I declare all independent and self-sufficient adults.

Everyone at my mom's house was speechless.

From that day on, the family began to function better because everyone in the house knew exactly what it was that they needed to do.

For some of us, this is hard because we've grown up being caregivers and feeling responsible for others. As moms & wives, we are fixers of all things. We never want our loved ones to go through difficult things or to struggle. We want everyone to be happy.

But, the sooner we take that responsibility off of our shoulders & onto each loved one, the better we are preparing them to be responsible.

We are not here on earth to be everything to everyone. Stop putting that pressure on yourself.

Much Love,

Charlyn.

On June 10, 1990, British Airways Flight 5390 was flying from Birmingham to Malaga when disaster struck at 17,300 feet. A section of the cockpit windscreen suddenly blew out while the plane was cruising at high altitude, causing a violent explosive decompression.

The sudden loss of pressure sucked Captain Timothy Lancaster halfway out of the cockpit. His upper body was flung outside the aircraft, exposed to freezing temperatures and extreme winds, while his legs remained caught inside. Miraculously, he didn’t fall completely out—thanks to the quick actions of the crew.

Co-pilot Alastair Atchison immediately took control of the aircraft. The crew sprang into action, putting on oxygen masks, alerting air traffic control, and initiating a rapid emergency descent to restore cabin pressure. Throughout the ordeal, they worked together to hold onto Lancaster and keep the plane stable, despite intense turbulence and the chaos of the moment.

The flight was safely diverted to Southampton, where it made an emergency landing. Thanks to the calm, professional response of the crew, all 81 passengers—and Captain Lancaster—survived. Incredibly, Lancaster suffered only minor injuries including frostbite, cuts, and bruises.

The incident is still remembered today as an extraordinary story of survival, teamwork, and the life-saving importance of proper training in aviation emergencies.

As I was coming home from Baton Rouge one of my tires blew out. I was freaking out trying to desperately find someone at the gas station to help. I so happened to look over and see a Sherriff pumping his gas, so I walk over and kindly ask him if he could help since I was alone and 4 hours from home. He looked at me and kind of brushed me off as if he had better things to do.
This gentleman in the picture named Klennis overheard and saw that the cop wasn't interested in helping me and said "come on I will help you". Klennis knew the tire wasn't any good anymore. I thought I had a spare in the trunk but sadly I did not. Long story but Klennis was able to retrieve a new tire at wall mart and managed to get the tire off the rim to replace it with the new tire. Klennis's son and another young man were able to help the process along. God was truly watching over me on my delay home.
Angels come in all shapes and sizes. Klennis worked 2 continuous hours trying to get me back on the road. He told me he had a daughter who was 21 and he would want the same for her if she was in my situation. I was truly blessed to be able to get back on the road and make it home safe and sound. Klennis Anders if you guys happen to run into Klennis please tell him what a wonderful man he is! My family truly appreciates the selflessness this man offered upon me."

Here’s a photo that shows what a truly great police officer is like. Almost two years ago, a father was driving his son to rehab in St. Lawrence. But on the way, the son decided he didn’t want to go. He took his dad’s phone, called 911, and said he was being kidnapped.

The father got pulled over, and his son got out of the car. That’s when a state trooper stepped in. For about an hour, the trooper stood on the side of the road, patiently talking to the young man, convincing him to let them take him to rehab. The father was amazed at how much the trooper cared and how dedicated he was to helping people struggling with addiction.

In the end, the officers didn’t have to use force. They calmly got the young man into their car and personally drove him to St. Lawrence, which was about an hour and a half away from Lowville. The trooper even walked him into the rehab center to make sure he got there safely.

This is a big shoutout to Officer Mike Carpinelli and other public servants like him who truly care and go above and beyond to help others. 💙

To everyone bitching about Texas Roadhouse allowing that dog who was deployed twice, to eat a steak in the restaurant on Veterans Day, I'd rather sit next to him than rowdy, bratty kids all day long. I can guarantee that dog is cleaner and more quiet. He isn’t up being allowed to run around like he (and his parents) were raised in a barn!

Ginger the pitbull saved her human (a mother) and her daughter from a cobra in Russia. According to the daughter, Ginger sustained 9 snake bite marks. During the last moments of her life, she only looked at her human, wagging her tail the whole time. Ginger's loyalty and bravery are a story that deserves to be shared. Dogs are not just pets, dogs are family.

Don't act heartlessly after reading this post, let's step up and do our part for that noble dog.

At 10:15 PM last night, she took her final breath. Just the day before, she had been so full of joy. We had noticed her breathing seemed unusual, but we assumed it might be due to overheating. Tragically, it turned out she was battling congestive heart failure. We administered the medication prescribed by the vet, but within just three hours, she went into respiratory distress, and we had to make the heart-wrenching decision to let her go.

Fourteen years with Kiah passed in the blink of an eye, and it feels like it was nowhere near enough time. Our hearts are shattered. Rest peacefully, Kiah—we miss you more than words can ever express.

She was 18 years old. The people she had loved her entire life took her—along with a vaccination booklet, a leash, a collar, and her belongings—to the Baldwin Park shelter. They said they were tired of dealing with an old dog, signed the papers, and left without even looking back.

When a shelter volunteer picked her up, she leaned into him, as if hoping this was all just a bad dream. The heartbreaking moment was captured by photographer John Hwang, who happened to be there that day.

Luis Hernández, a 55-year-old man, had once been the proud owner of "La Casa de Sabores," a renowned restaurant in his small town in southern Spain. For years, his business thrived, attracting both tourists and locals. However, as time passed, the economy plummeted, competition grew, and Luis began to lose customers. The mounting debts forced him to make the painful decision to close the restaurant. He put the place up for sale and, over time, stopped visiting his beloved restaurant, focusing instead on his struggles. But one fateful day, a visit to the empty restaurant changed his life forever.
On a cold, rainy night, Luis spotted a disheveled man and his young daughter huddled under a small roof outside the restaurant. Their faces reflected desperation, and something in Luis urged him to act. When he asked what they were doing there, the man, Tomás, explained that they had lost everything—home, work, and hope—and were looking for shelter. Despite his own financial turmoil, Luis couldn’t turn them away. He opened the door to the restaurant, offering them a place to stay, allowing them to find refuge in the kitchen until they could find something better.
Days passed, and Luis, consumed by his personal troubles, didn’t return to the restaurant for a while. But when he did, he was taken aback by a delicious aroma wafting from the kitchen. To his shock, Tomás was cooking with impressive skill, creating exquisite dishes and desserts that rivaled any top chef’s. Tomás explained that he had once worked as a chef at one of the best restaurants in town, but after losing everything, he had ended up on the streets. Realizing the potential of his restaurant, Luis saw that Tomás’s hidden talent could breathe new life into "La Casa de Sabores." Together, they decided to reopen the restaurant, blending Luis’s traditional recipes with Tomás’s creative flair. The reopening became a success, and "La Casa de Sabores" transformed into a symbol of second chances, generosity, and the power of opening one’s heart.

"As I was looking on Facebook, I saw the ad for this dog. Phobic, brutally abused, eating wood and tied up in a yard. His man wanted him "wild" to scare the thieves!!... After the death of my dog that we were together for 17 years and while I had said I would not get another animal, today he came into my life. As soon as I put him in the car he sat on my son's lap and fell asleep. I took this picture to share and show how much all creatures need love.... How much did he need that hug?! From today on we are family... Let's go home! "

You may have heard about what happened to the little boy in the middle of this picture.
He cuts grass to make extra money.
He calls his company Mr. Reggie’s Lawn Service.
Recently a woman hired him to cut her grass.
And the woman next door called police on him.
The reason:
Because he accidentally cut some of her grass.
(The lines between the two yards weren't clear)
I know.. it’s ridiculous.
But this is a story about what happened next.
And I promise it will put a smile on your face.
Joe Revay (on the left) saw the story and was so "pi**ed" that he decided to do something for Reggie.
This is what his wife posted:
I'm not much of a 'bragger' but I'm going to brag! Lol.
My husband is one of the most sweetest, kindest, selfless and humble men I've ever known.
A little boy on the news in Maple Heights was mowing lawns and had the police called on him for, "mowing a piece of the neighbors lawn", smh.
We were so pi**ed.
Here's a 12 year old (and his siblings) trying to make some money and keep busy, so my husband decided to step in.
You don't discourage kids or anyone doing the right thing!!
Especially in todays world.
My husband, owning a landscaping business decided to reach out to his mother and help him out with some equipment (a blower, etc) to make it easier for him to do these lawns.
What I wonderful young man and family!
God bless them!!
And I'm so blessed to call this man my husband!! 💙
Be kind and always spread love!
--Shawn Revay
As one person wrote afterward:
“That’s how u make America Great.”
Yup.
I couldn’t agree more.
Thank you sir for your kind heart. Awesome young men❤

Here’s a snapshot of my oldest son Trevor and me on my wedding day! Fun fact: Trevor wasn’t always my son; he’s actually my husband’s child from a previous marriage. His biological mom wasn’t around when I stepped into their lives at 19, and he was just a little 3-year-old. I remember one night while I was babysitting and tucking him in, he looked up at me and said, ‘I don’t have a mommy, but I love you. Will you be my mommy?’ From that moment on, I’ve loved him as if he were my own. Now, after five beautiful years and two more kiddos, I’m finally adopting him! This picture perfectly captures the deep love we share."

04/18/2025

Vivian Liberto Distin Cash was the first wife of Johnny Cash—the “Man in Black,” the outlaw country legend. A name we all know, a voice we’ve heard a thousand times. But how many of us know about her?

Vivian was a young woman of African American and Sicilian descent, living in a time and place where being one, let alone both, could put a target on your back. She met Johnny before the fame, before the wild touring years, before the demons fully took hold. He was in the Air Force when they started writing letters, and their connection grew through ink and paper before it ever became physical. When he came home, they married. Four daughters followed. One of them was Rosanne Cash, a powerhouse in her own right.

The iconic song “I Walk the Line”? That was written for Vivian. A promise in lyrics, a pledge of fidelity from a man who would go on to struggle mightily with temptation and addiction. It wasn’t about June. It wasn’t Hollywood. It was real—written in the early days when Johnny still belonged to the woman who held it all together on the home front.

But the world didn’t want to see a Black or mixed-race woman standing beside a rising white male star. So she was “Italian,” or “olive-skinned,” or “exotic.” Anything but Black. The truth wasn’t convenient. The truth was dangerous. The Klan sent threats. Protesters showed up. Southern audiences grew hostile. She faced down racism from outsiders and, eventually, a crushing loneliness from inside her own home. Johnny was touring, disappearing into pills, into chaos. She had to carry everything—the girls, the house, the public face, and the private fear.

After ten years of marriage, Vivian walked away. Not because she didn’t love him. Not because she wasn’t strong. But because even strength has a breaking point when it’s not being held up by your partner. The emotional toll of racism, of neglect, of being erased in your own marriage—she bore it for as long as she could. And then she chose peace for herself and her children.

Vivian rarely gets the respect she deserves in retellings of Johnny Cash’s story. In movies, she’s miscast. Washed out. Minimized. They make her jealous, bitter, or weak. But those who look a little deeper will see something else: a woman who loved deeply, who sacrificed more than she ever should have had to, who kept her children grounded and herself dignified, even in heartbreak.

So let’s be real about it. Vivian wasn’t just a footnote in a man’s legend. She was a woman ahead of her time, navigating love, motherhood, fame, and racism in a country that didn’t want to see her. Give her flowers—she earned every last one.
