OHIO is where our RV tour kicked off. Although not in the original plan, the RV we purchased was located in Ohio and our shipper fell through at the last minute, so we flew out and are driving this BEAST back to Cali before we officially kick off our journey to Montana in a few weeks. Here’s what we thought of the state of OHIO….. Who knew that the Amish people lived in parts of Ohio, I didn’t, I thought they were only in Pennsylvania. Wish we could’ve visited a traditional Amish village. Maybe next time. We did get to a restaurant however and Amish food is better than Amish RV’s any day… I guess Newmar RV’s are made by the Amish, and although they have some nice interior woodworking, it’s not for me, because it looks like it was made by the Amish😜. No offense, I just like RV interiors that look a bit more modern😊. Ohio rest stops are Legit! Not to get too crazy about a rest stop here, but they make rest stops in most parts of California look like a prison yard. Ohio rest stops that we saw all had rolling lawns, backed up to corn fields, complete with benches, beautiful green shade trees, and a guy walking around picking up trash. It was like a freakin park. Ohioans have an awesome treat called Buckeyes, a chocolate covered peanut butter ball that rivals (or kicks the butt of) a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup, named after the Buckeye tree! Get some! The highways seemed to have gotten bumpier and bumpier the further south you got towards Kentucky (Kentucky was our next stop and next post:). Brunswick Ohio is the home of one of the MOST beautiful, coolest, and most fun farms to visit in the whole country, ! We went to a Queen tribute concert with and it was off the chain fun for people of all ages, complete with amazing food trucks, great music, friendly people, and beautiful scenery. Check them out for a Friday concert in the summer and other events throughout the year (their event barn is ridonkulously cool😎). Tons of fun in our first day or so that ended with us staying overnight at a truck stop. Not glamorous but fun nonetheless. Many learning moments already that we’ll share in the next post from Kentucky😆.
