ritten a blog before Grandma started Grandma's Laughs & Tid Bits.. We have never run a Web Store until now either so we are learning as we go and we hope to keep our web store as friendly and open as if you walked in to a Mom & Pop store in your hometown! We do believe in Customer service! So as we learn how to work all the things here on this Web Store, we hope none of you get lost or get bad service while we are going through the learning process. To give you some back ground on us, Grandma Peggy Started "Grandma's Laughs & Tid Bits" on a whim back a few years ago. Grandma's mission in life has always been to leave people with a smile. So she just started sharing fun things that a Grandma might share with the family on Facebook. It caught on and before long, Grandma Peggy's little hobby had over 300,000 followers. The reason we chose Safety Products as our item to offer and sale is due to Grandpa Being a Quadriplegic. We have found the need for security hidden cameras to protect him. We also have had many life experiences where we learned that lives could be saved by making sure the ones you love have safety products on hand. Grandpa became a Quad on Feb 26, 2012. Grandpa Don woke up with a pain in his neck. He thought he had slept on in wrong, but it was the worst pain he had ever felt. So he decided to go to the Doctor about it and the next thing you know he was flat on his back in intensive care in the hospital fighting for his life. To make a long story short, he became a quadriplegic overnight due to an abscess on his spinal cord at C-4. Most people die from this even before it is diagnosed, and those who do make it to the hospital, usually die. One in 10,000 ICU admissions are due to these types of abscesses and most of them die. SO... we felt very blessed to be alive! Throughout all this Grandma Peggy shared here on her page what was going on with Grandpa Don and requested prayer for him. The response was incredible! People from all over the world started following Grandpa Don's story and what he was going though in the hospital. Grandma Peggy would read him the comments of the people and the cards and letters they would send. This made Grandpa's sprit soar! So after 8 months in the Hospital and Grandma Peggy being trained on how to take care of Grandpa Don, we finally got to come back home to Alaska. Taking care of Grandpa Don is a full time Job so Grandma Did not post much for a long time. Just due to never having enough time. However, Grandma and Grandpa both felt the Lord wanted them to share their story with others so finally we started posting again and we are trying to keep our page going and take care of Grandpa too! Grandma Peggy needs help caring for Grandpa Don so in order to pay for that, she started this web store to help raise the money needed for the things that Grandpa Don needs that are not available through the VA or other programs. Mainly the amount of help needed from other caregivers that could give Grandma Peggy a break.
