The belugas are back in Tutl'uh (Turnagain Arm)!
Every August, these incredible white whales return to the Arm, following the tides and salmon. I was lucky enough to capture some video of them surfacing in the silty waters just our Seward Highway.
It’s one of the magical sights of late summer near Anchorage. Also a reminder of the season changing, coho running, and the connection between season, water, and wildlife.
Best time is usually high tide. Bring your binoculars, camera, and patience. You might just see these beautiful whales feeding and swimming together. Or book a with Blueberry Tours and we will look together!
